i have a number of large files (+1gb) that i need to move from an old mac to a sony laptop. the mac has no cd burner and is not compatible with any rw drives or zip drives that are also compatible with the laptop. i would upload the files onto the internet but thatd take... awhile. anyone know of file splitters that cut up files into tiny bits, compatible with both mac and pc? the mac is running osx, and the pc, win2000 pro. if this can not be done or is too difficult, does anyone know of another way to transport the files?

Doesn't OSX offer the ability to share files with Windows computers on the same network?

Anyhow, you can always use something like BPFTP on the Windows 2000 and have the Mac upload it to the Windows box. Assuming this is all on a network of course.

If your mac and windows laptop support Ethernet, just plug in a crossover cable and transfer them...

that's what i do with my two windows laptop.

AppleTalk should let you connect the systems together.
