I want to make a short films website.
I will use asp and will probably use php for my discussion board. So mysql will also be required.

I will host some movie and mp3 files and I am looking for around 200mb> space. The bandwidth can be around 5GB.

I want a really reliable host.

and if its not too expensive then that will be great..

Note: The films and mp3s will be my own.. otherwise i will ask permission for any copyright material.

Hosts that support ASP tend to be Window Based Hosts, and hosts that offer php and mysql tend to be Linux/Unix based hosts. While there is a ASP module for Unix/Linux, it lacks the features and stability that comes with having ASP on a IIS 5.x/6.x Windows Machine.

So do you prefer a host that offers ASP or php/mysql?

These "movies and mp3s", are they yours? Did you create them? Do you own copyright to them? If not, where did you obtain these videos/songs? Can you contact the artist/producer and get written consent that you can distribute these files?

.. These are questions that need to be asked by a host before they go off and post their plans. You are as much responsible for the contents of the website as the person who uploaded it.

Yeah these file will be my own. So there is no problem of a copyright. Or even if i do host other files then i will get their permission first. Usually these will be ameture made short films and mp3 music... so i will ask them before hosting.
