My computer sounds like a giant air-conditioning unit.

The noise is driving me nuts!

I dont know whether its the geforce 4 fan or the motherboard fan, if not both.

Anyone know what I can do apart from visit the computer guy?

Hold the blade of one of them to see which one is it.
Once you figure out which fan is, try applying a lubricant to it.

wd40 works miracles, but make sure you remove the fan before spraying. Oh and if you are worried about spraying it a new fan is only about 5 bucks.

I had a V. V. V. noisy fan once. It only needed cleaning:rolleyes:

Has it always been noisy, or did it just recently begin bugging you?

If it's from the powerpack, it could be even trickier. :smile2:

I have about 4 fans in my system and it's pretty noisy.

It has always been pretty noisy, since it was new.
But now it has some kind of quiet buzzing noise aswell, ever since I put in my new DSL modem.

I tried taking the modem out again but it doesnt change anything.

Maybe im just nuts
