Here is my web site. Fairly simple site. I am a newbie at web design. I designed this with notepad (no wysiwyg or html editors). There is a banner add at the top to keep my web site free. Since I am new at this, I need constructive criticism.

nice, i have to say an orginal idea, i don't think i've come across a home brewing website. the design is very good for someone new to html and using notepad. very easy to navigation. just a suggestion that you remove that link ot the brewer and move it to a links section and replace it with your own heading. its very annoying and quite distracing from the rest of the site.

Unfortunately, I really don't have control over the banner add on top of the web site. The company that gives me the free space puts it there. I realize that I probably could try to move it in the code, but it probably won't stay that way. Just their rules. If I ever got serious about promoting it, I would probably find a cheap web host that doesn't insert advertisements.
Thanks for the info.

It's a bit basic but it gets the job done and it downloads nice and fast. Not sure I like the background colour - perhaps a more winey colour? Pretty godd though considering it was developed in Notepad. Good luck with it.

I agree and go with the opinion.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I liked the background color when I designed it about 4 months ago, but I agree, it is a bit much. I think I will change it. I do like the background color for the navigation panel on the left, though as it matches the .gif images at the top and bottom. I need to find a lighter overall background color that will match the yellow color. I also need to take out the sound files (Homer Simpson sound files) as it really does not add anything to the site. Just adds a problem of how the sound file opens in someone else's browser.
Now, I need to figure out how to register the site with search engines. I am hoping I can do it without paying anything. I did notice a new problem with the overall web site, though. It opens up in IE fine, and looks good in Frontpage. But when I open it in Dreamweaver, it doesn't look right. I need to fix that problem as Dreamweaver is my favorite editor program. I think it might be the fact that I used percentages in the tables instead of pixels.
I'd like to try BBedit sometime as I have heard that it is a very good editor. But I would have to use it on my Starmax 3000 as i don't think there is a PC version, yet??
