Here's what I'm looking for:

Less than 5 MB of space for HTML and graphics only
Statistics for visitors, page views, etc.
Reliable
Fast
FTP upload preferable but not required

What do you guys recommend?

http://www.hypermart.net - The best free business site host. (50MB of Space, FTP, Subdomain, CGI and PHP)

Unfornately there is a limit of 500MB Transfer... but that is good enough for any small site.

Of course you need a credit card to get hosted there. I suggest you go with one of the big ones, for stablity. Tripod, Angelfire, 9ug, Spaceports.

It is only a recent requirement to have a credit card.

Unfortunately, they are now putting big pop-up ads even on their banner options. I'd agree that they have been a great host but if you don't want pop-ups try somewhere else.

Netfirms is also a fine choice if you don't want big ads... but Hypermart always have had top of the line speed.

I emailed them earlier, and they said that there is plenty of space left. the error may have been a glitch in the script. they said.

I can still upload files to my folder, so i guess there is still space left after all
