I dont like Maxis' games the most but they have made The Sims which has sold more copies then any other game in the history of ...ever. Well PC game...
The Sims 2 is probably the most complex game ever...

Yes, I could never figure out what all the "id" blocks everywhere were. I was confused..."id? Do I have to show them id? Do they give me id? What's an id? Instant-death? I don't want to go near there then..."
I don't really pay much attention to game creators...but Rareware I know made some good stuff (Goldeneye, Perfect Dark...to some extent.). id - Great 3D engines...but gameplay (id Quake III) is a little lacking. But mods make up for that. And you can't deny Pro Skater games are pretty fun....NeverSoft. Oh, and whoever made Zelda...(would it be just Nintendo...or is there a compnay behind those games?)

Lucasarts, Sierra, and Origin all made good games once upon a time. As did Microprose, which sadly closed it's doors after twenty years just a few weeks ago.
Revolution Games are also good.

This is a no-brainer for me...Nintendo makes the best games. :doh!:
Rare has made some great stuff for Nintendo in the past, but their recent games for the Xbox look disappointing. :confused5

CHIP's CHALLENGE was the name. Yes, I loved that game too. I figured out how to edit the ini file, and pretty much specify the password for any level, so to jump to that level, I enter the password. One of my prouder moments in life.

i agree! ID DEFININITELY!!!! they have been the king ever since...DOOM, Duke Nukem (?), castle Wolfenstein,etc,etc,etc... i could go on for days. the old games i like better than the new ones. dont know why... i have an old tandy running DOS with ALOT of old games on it... and turbo c :)

I like different games on different machines. I think Id made the best computer games, then westwood took over a little bit when id fell off and I quit playing new games on computer.
As far as console games go, I really love the new ESPN sports games, whoever makes them, Rockstar North of course is breaking new ground... but the old games really are where it's at.
But really, Rare is the great one. The Rare Donkey Kong games for SNES were truly a new wave in the gaming industry and then they put out the best N64 game that there ever was or will be... Goldeneye, the game that cut the ribbon for mutiplayer FPS.

Goldeneye
!!! :biggrin2:
Goldeneye was teh win. The first FPS I'd played. Wish they made a similar one for PC...there wasn't all too much gore back then, now every FPS is either really gory or has to do with terrorism, two things I really don't like gaming with.

Well, first of all, Valve didn't make the original Counterstrike, an asian dude from a small town in British Columbia did, so, they're out, and besides, Half Life took me three hours to finish. Blizzard, good, but, I swear to god, It's been what, five years since StarCraft, and the only thing we've got are ports, a promise of a third person XBOX game, and an upgrade, I like WarCraft and all..but, no...SC is what I am there for. SquareSoft...well, lets just say Final Fantasy 10-2, I'll stop at that, to show their brilliance. Maxis....yeah, right. Rockstar, go rockstar, me likies them. EA, I like EA, Need for Speed is an awesome franchise, and if anyone wants to race me in Underground, I'll tell you this; My rice mobile will shake rattle and roll your balls.
