I was wondering if there is good money involved in selling e-books.

Since I've been working as a salesman for wireless services for a few months I was going to write an e-book about all the scams the cellular industry pulls on people, how salesmen are trained to fool customers, and basically give a run down of what stuff really is like. This way a consumer is better informed and won't fall for some of the blatant scams (like rollover minutes...).

I wanted to sell this e-book on a website and also start an affiliate program so that others can do some selling for me. Do you guys know any websites where I can setup an account to sell e-books online and offer an affiliate program? I've been looking at ClickBank.com but they don't seem to be automated. I need something that will automate payments, downloads, and everything, so that I don't need to process individual orders or anything.

Hi. The osCommerce shopping cart seems popular. Also, 2CheckOut has options for e-goods, and the PayPal IPN system can be used for e-goods too. Good luck.

Well, if you know any scritpting, it may be worth coding your own stuff (the downloading, payment, etc). Then you can integrate it with 2Checkout. Actually, I think 2Checkout does most of the stuff, you just might have to install their scripts at your end. I have heard horror stories about 2Checkout though, so be wary. On the bright side, they accept anyone (well, legal stuff), and there is only a $45 ( I think) setup fee.

If you don't know ANY scripting, you can consider paying someone to do it, instead of shelling for a premade program. Of course, it depends on how cheap you can get someone to do it, and the end result will depend on how good this person is at doing it.

How do I setup an affiliate program with 2checkout? Is it even possible? I know some companies like RegNow.com and ClickBank.com handle affiliate stuff for you, the only problem is RegNow.com is quite expensive (more expensive per transaction than any other provider) and ClickBank doesnt seem automated :(
