Does anyone know of free web space provider who would allow me to set up an internet -------- site? Most US providers do not allow it as some of our products are not acceptable under US law.

That certainly is a bizarre request... I have no idea, having never seen a FWP that specifically catered to '--------' sites. I guess you'd have to ask them.

I think it would be best for you to invest in a paid host.

1 because if you are successful you will be making money and can afford it

2 You will look trustworthier

3 dont go with a US host. If it is Illegal in USA you stand the chance of getting in trouble; after all the internet is international and if americans arent able to buy from you because its illegal most of your market is shot.

you probably need a permit or something

Thanks for your replies. I am new to this forum so it is nice to see such a good response.

Homestead pulled our site after it was up for a month but they sent us several very polite messages before doing so.

Our main line of products are anaboic steroids. 100% legal in Asia, Legal 'for personal use only' in European countries and illegal in the good ol' USA.

In that case, can anyone point me in the direction of a good paid-for web host or perhaps a good non-US free host?

Anonymity would be a plus (but not essential) when signing up for any service.

Thanks :-)

Sorry to take your illusion away, but that would be very few European contries. I can't say for sure, but I don't think any Western European country allows them.

Hi Meow,

Actually most European countries allow a you to possess and use a certain quantity of AS for personal use. We have been shipping to the UK for the past 15 years. None of our customers have ever had a problem. We always mark the package with a list of contents for customs. Anyway, thank you for your concern.

Just looking at F2S. Looks good so far. Do you have to use their e mail service as part of the agreement?

Really? I must have misunderstood something then. Or is it a matter of classification - that they have to analyze and class each specific substance as a drug before they can make it illegal? That's how the peddlers get around it in my country. They just make an insignificant change to a molecule - whoops - a new substance and they can go on selling it a while.

No mean to be offensive, but my concern wasn't for you but for your customers.

No, you don't have to use it. It's set up by deafault though. Nice to be able to have info@mysub.f2s.com, I guess.

Take a look at the TOS for http://www.crosswinds.net/ . Its a Canadian site, if what you're selling is legal in Canada they'll allow business sites. I recommend emailing to ask if its okay. I have a number of sites with them. I've had sites with them for a couple of years. If you don't mind popups, you'll find them to be much better than their reputation. And they keep improving, but unfortunately no CGI, yet. When they get to the place where the offer CGI, they'll corner the market on free web space. If your site is successful you can pay to have the popups removed.

Good luck

Actually, the owners of Crosswinds live in Toronto, but the servers themselves are in New York City.

i hope you're only selling AS's!!!
'cause it's definitely not preferrable to be selling anything else, what if they die from using it?

that's a major concern with starting an internet --------

My 2 cents worth: Using a free web host's domain for a business makes people suspicious. You might want to consider getting your own domain name at the very least. At least, when you shift hosts, you can bring your domain with you and not lose potential customers.
