Is there a free program out there that will take a snapshot of my system and allow me to back it up, kinda like norton ghost. Also possibly allow me to burn it to cd.

Local system ie desktop/laptop/server or web server and what OS?

It is a desktop, win2k, but I just went out to BestBuy and got Norton Ghost.

You could have also just downloaded a Knoppix live disc and made the backup for free...
