I was wondering if anyone is giving away free ip addresses, and if so, where I can get one? I really don't know if its available or not, but seeing as nobody thought there'd ever be such a thing as free unlimited webspace, free internet access, free dns servers, or free domain names, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

I have a domain and i'm trying to setup my own irc server off a shell that doesn't provide users with an ip address nor allow me to bind to theirs afaik. They say its ok to setup irc servers, but I don't think its possible without my own ip address.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I doubt that very much. IP addresses cost money so I do not think that any company would give it out for free. Unless it's a friend of yours or something. But I could be wrong...

The server that's offering this shell services must have it's own IP, that's probably the IP that you'd use. Whoever runs that server should tell you HOW to set up your IRC server. Ask.
