Ok, I have my own little sever setup on my pc, with everything i could ever want. I took 3 speed tests and got on average a little over 1 mbps down, and around 350 kbps up. Would this be suficent to host my own little web site? Or will it be really slow. I had people download from my server before and they said it lightning fast. :cool2:

350kbps upload would be sufficient to host a small, static page website. Nothing intense and nothing with high volume of users.

Tho I would check w/ your ISP to make sure servers are allowed (which probably they aren't) so you don't get your connection terminated.

Ok, ill check into that. Also i was wondering...
Im running IIS 5.0 and I keep my pc on almost all the time. Would the site be down if i had to reset my pc, or would it not?

Of course it would. Anytime your computer is off, your website cannot be accessed.

That should be plenty fast enough :classic2: My 50Kbits down 30KBits up loads nicely for most people.

And on second thought, damn you and everyone else for having a faster upload than me. :(

Oh but it does...that's how I share files over IM :classic2: Not always the fastest, but it does load. Example: http://shimmerflint.us:8080/random/comic03.png (if it doesn't work try again later, my computer might be off.)

That's your upstream.

I was saying that your 50kBps downstream isn't used by anyone other that yourself (unless of course people upload to your machine).

Hmm...
