The beginning of November we got about 40 inches.

Haven't seen any measurable snow since then though. :( The month of December was one big ----ign heatwave where the average high was like 40°F. And we got like 8 inches of rain too.

I want another foot or five of snow, dammit.

I live maybe 100-125 miles away from you in seattle.

We have been getting about 3 inches a day, but it melts off. I love the snow and hate warm weather.

HAHAHA! You call THAT a heat wave?! Try 100+ heat indexes in central louisiana in the summer, and 60s to 70s averaging throughout during winter.

We see plenty of 100°+ days during our summer too.

It snows maybe once every five years here, if that often. And I've only seen it stick twice, the second time was because I lived in the hills in North Central Phoenix which is a little higher than the main part of the city.

The average temperature in Malaysia throughout the year is like 36-40C. So anything u do, sweaty, sweaty.

Heh funny story regarding Malaysia/Bangkok and the temp. [pre 9/11]

QF1. Qantas flight to London via Bangkok. 28hrs.

It stops in Bangkok.

As soon as they open the doors in bangkok, the heat/humidity hits you- its amazing.

When they close the doors, that humidty stays there.

That is until you take off. The cabin temprature hits Dew-point, and water stats "leaking" from everwhere.

This freaked out 5-10 passengers behind me, 2 looking extreamly alarmed. Those two left their seats [during ascent] and ran to the flight attendents. The 2 passengers returned shortly, with a :normal2: look on their faces.

Side Note: 5 people were sick on the way down in to london!!

It's snowed a couple of times, but it all melted off. We had a white christmas tho :classic2: It's uncharacteristic of my area...we should have at least 4" of snow on the ground if the past is any indication. Last christmas eve (that's 2002) we got a big dump of 6"-10". But we're looking at freezing rain conditions possible right now, so maybe we'll get out of these 40°F weeks we've been having all winter.

Why do Canadians say aboot? I found out about this at South Park and also this video http://www.57host.biz/IAmCanadian.mov

Canadians don't say aboot. Gayo used it as a joke. It's an American stereotype of Canadians. I have no idea where it came from, but my guess is the Maritimes. There are some messed up accents there, and it might sometimes sound like aboot.

Bruce

It's more like "aboat" actually, with Quebecers anyway (of course they're not really Canadians, but I digress...).

The same goes for most "ou" words (aside from their funny Canadian spellings of words).

Outside sounds more like "oat-side" and so on.

What are they?

The reason why quebec english sounds weird is that most quebecers only learnt english at school in some point of their lifes and never used it again. Like its french on a daily basis, and when they try to go to florida for winter "Excuse me sir, where i go to flaridah?". ... and 'vive quebec libre' crap :classic2:
