View Full Version : Look at the dumbass!

How stupid can some people get?!?!

I was on my way to the U-Pull-It yard to grab some parts for my Z today. It was a four lane street (two on each side for you math-challenged folks) and had quite a few cars. We get to a stop light and Dumbass #1, who is in front and to the left of me, pulls up next to Dumbass #2, who is in front of my directly. Dumbass #1 starts talking to Dumbass #2, and when the light turns green, Dumbass #2 shoves is little Geo Metro in front of Dumbass #1's Prelude, which didn't have a lot of room in front of him to begin with. Now Dumbass #2 starts swerving to the left and right really hard, and out of nowhere pulls a half-donut across traffic, sliding behind cars going the opposite lane and in front of oncoming traffic. He then proceeds to attempt a burn out and speed away. Dumbass #1 then turns onto a side street and speeds off that way.

Wow. I'm amazed by some peoples idiocy. Good thing he didn't smash into anyone, which I'm surprized he didn't, given his timing. He had a chance to clip the back of two cars, and if he hadn't managed at least a half donut he'd have been REALLY screwed considering he went into oncoming traffic.

eh, glad I don't live where you do.

It's funny you mentioned a Metro... For some reason people who drive Metros believe they are the fastest bastards on the road. Why is that?

I'm sorry, aren't you like 13? Why do you have a Z?

Exactly what i was going to ask, he is 14, and i think you have to be 15 ATLEAST to get some kind of permit.

And what the heck is a 'Z'? Is it some kind of 'cool' car that makes people think higher of you?

And since he says "We" in it, looks like he is going with his mommy or daddy to get some parts for his 'z' car, so when he turns 15 or 16, he can drive this 'z'.

Why the hell are you two "analyzing" my post (not you Robert) ? The point wasn't about my car or when I get my permit (4 months) or even who was with me in the damn truck but about this idiot trying to pull stunts in the middle of the street.

He also never said he was driving it...I've owend a truck for several months, but I can't drive it because I don't have a permit. It just sits in the driveway.

That is a killer car I must say. What powers those things?

I've always been a fan of the z's, just not pre-'90 300zx. I dont like old cars but that one would be an exception :)

Got it free. One of my Dad's friends had it in his garage, but didn't do anything with it. His wife got ticked off and told him she wanted it out of the garage. So he gave it to us. I dunno how much he paid for it, though.

cowax: 2.6liter Inline-6. It's about 2500lbs, and has around 150hp and about the same torque. (I've found conflicting numbers, so I'm not sure except that it's in that range). We're planning on a .120" over-bore (which is what Nissan-Datsun did to get the later 280Z engine) along with a cam and a 4.11 differential.

[edit]
Wojtek: This car is definitely not bulky, it's actually quite small. These cars are known to have very strong, long lasting and reliable engines. ;) You're going by stereotypes there, man.
I don't think they made a 2+2 version of the Turbo z32, but I could be wrong.

I've seen a few, but they were all NA 2+2's converted to TT's.
Very nice mix :)

Just wait til you start driving and you're on the road even more.

You'll see plenty of dumb bastards on the road every day.

The Fast and The Furious -----s, old people, and women who drive abnormally big SUVs are the worst drivers.

Nice car, how far are you going to go with it? I have never seen a real done up Z. You gonna rice it or just make it oldschool?

Go get a nice RB26, big fat exhaust, BOV and a air filter.

Also cosmetic wise, it needs a new paint job, some nice rims would be good also.

I saw a 260 in the paper the other dfay for $6k and was seriously considering it.

Mighty fine taste.

brown guys with cloth hats in taxis also tend to be an accident waiting to happen.

I used to own a car but i crashed it over a bank, through a tree and into a fence.

now I walk, ride my bike (which was stolen by a visile minority) or take the bus.

have fun in your car. I've always liked the old Z series. the 350z especially.

edit: I had to make it a bit more coherent. I can't tell if I was succesful.

Of course I'm not going to rice it, I hate all those Fast and Furious -----s with wings big enough for a freakin passenger jet. Big fat exhaust = rice... We're going to use the stock engine (nissan gt-r engine is for the nissan gt-r!), and I said what we're planning on doing to it in another post ^^^. The car's almost 30 years old, most unrestored classic cars are going to have cosmetic problems like paint and rust (and BONDO! *cringes*). :chinese2: It's probably going to stay normally aspirated, too. As far as wheels, we're going to keep the stock wheels, but we will most likely buy lightweight wheels in an effort to reduce the overall weight of the car.

So the engine will be completely stock. Not even a turbo? The thing is you don't see many on the roads these days (where I live anyways), and even if you do, they are about to fall apart. Would be cool to have a 260 with balls, piss all over those V8s.

I am assuming your gonna be one of those pimps who just drives their car every second day down to the car wash ^^

Good luck with it though man, sounds pretty cool. Hope the restoration all goes well.

I wish I was making progress like you were.

I think the project I want to do is going to have to be put on hold for some time... I don't see the $16,000 I need for a Merlin 632 big block coming to me any time soon. Not to mention the money it's going to cost for a vehicle with a big enough engine bay and the money for axles, tranny, and everything else you need to withstand the 900+ ft/lb torque and 700+hp on pump gas :D.

My dad has a '72 240Z sitting in his backyard. The same as a 260, but with a 4-cylinder. I would love to get a hold of it and restore it, but that takes money that I need to spend on other things. :(

I washed that car at the car wash I worked at

Will I *one day* drive it? :)

And robert, usually they give like civics or tercels, not classy bmw's as temp cars at garages... Unless you went to have your oil changed in your 2003 745 :)

We'll keep the stock engine block, but it won't remain stock. ;) And yeah, I get pissy when anything gets dirty (except my shoes) so I'll probably be emptying my paycheck at the car wash. But I'll be driving to autocross events and it will be a daily driver.

We have been thinking about putting on a centrifugal blower, but will probably go for the over-bore route.

About the V8s: Yeah, there's someone at the Z car forum with a high 12-second 240Z with the L28 (280Z) engine stroked to 2.9L and stock carbs and normally aspirated. It's also his daily driver. So that's my goal -- to get at least low to mid 13 seconds and I will be happy.

Mandrake: A 240Z with a 4-banger? That's not stock, it must have been switched out. THe 240Z came with a 2.4L (nissan's L24 engine) carbed straight-6 cyl with SOHC. The 240Z would be a great car to go for, the older ones are around 2300 pounds. The guy I mentioned up there ^^ used an early 240Z.

nitroboy: Nice bimmer! I like the 330ci........3.3 liter straight 6 right?

Dang, I got homework to do.........8-freakin-45 at night.....

it's only a 3.0 liter engine

330 Ci
- first 3 stands for "the 3-series"
- last 2 letters stand for the engine, in this case 3.0 liter
