I don't see a single punk-rock group on that list!
Totally unexcusable if you ask me.
However 'The Flaming Lips' kick serious ---, and 'The Darkness' are pretty decent.

Wow...that's huge, and I wanna go. Some -----in' bands, and if nothing else, I can throw ---- at Metallica.
Also, the D4 is pretty -----in', and don't get enough credit for being a good band. But most of the acts there are pretty good. That's a nice and somewhat diverse lineup.

Ouch...not even Metallica? You must be a youngin...you'll learn. As for me, since there really isn't much other point for this post, I've heard of 11 of them.

For mine, this is the worst BDO line-up, I was all excited to go, but saw the list and I can say there is not one band there I want to see, even if I got a free ticket!

Well I have not heard of some, so it will be interesting to hear some new stuff. However Metallica is the big drawcard, possibly the last time they will be playing in my city.
I can't believe you guys have not heard of more. Obviously the big ones such as Metallica and Black Eyes Peas. Heaps of australian bands are playing, perhaps that is why you have never heard of many. There are some kickin DJs there. People like Basement Jaxx, DJ Afrika Bambaataa, Sonicanimation and The Apexi Twins would be well, well worth a look at.
Well, its a pretty loaded list in my mind and for $100 not bad :)

Actually, yeah, I'm surprised so many of you don't know who Metallica is...even if you're not as old as all of us who remember they're music from way back (Searchin'....Seek and DESTROY!!!...sorry), you must at least remember them as the band that took down Napster.

I now have a dilemma, there is an Australian vs India cricket match on the same day. AND there is another concert called Rockit a few months later with a nice line up (http://www.heatseeker.com.au/shows_tours/rockit2004/lineup.htm) aswell. I hear the tickets will be pretty cheap. Seeing as I can only go to one (I am saving up ^^), here are my options:
Go to big day out.
or
Go to the cricket, Rockit AND have a few $$ left over for half a block. Decisions decisions....

I would recommend not going to a concert where Blink 182 is the headliner. If it was at all possible, they're even worse than they used to be.

However, dj green lantern will be their as will be pacifier.

January 18th, 2004, 18:47
oh, and did I mention a greater chance of picking up.
Blank Verse
January 18th, 2004, 20:33
Greater chance? Are you sure? I can't tell for sure, but I'd say Big Day Out would give you a better chance in that regard, I'd imagine there'd be a lot more people there.
Kaliber
January 19th, 2004, 02:19
its not how many people but what type of people. How many chicks do you know that love metallica, and how many do you know that love Blink.
Blank Verse
January 19th, 2004, 02:25
that's true, but I do personally know a lot of girls who like The Strokes, The Darkness, The Flaming Lips, Jet, Black Eyed Peas, and such. I'd rather fornicate with fans of those bands rather than some of the girls who think Blink 182 is just "Soo Hardcore!"
Kaliber
January 19th, 2004, 02:28
Good point, its a pickle, especially when you factor in the cricket.
Blank Verse
January 19th, 2004, 02:30
Yeah, well it sounds like you'll have a good time either way. It's really a nice problem to have.
Canuckkev
January 19th, 2004, 12:00
Keep in mind fans of :"The Strokes, The Darkness, The Flaming Lips, Jet, Black Eyed Peas, and such." will probably be harder to pick up (ie, more intelligent) than fans of blink. Best bet, find a hot chick to go with, spend the whole day rockin'. Of course, with this approach, you'd have to shell out more for her ticket (Won't do much good to say "Hey, want to go to Big Day Out with me? Yes? Okay, tickets are $100.")...so it is quite a pickle.
