Im looking for a dedicated server that would be able to handle up to 1000 concurrent users on digichat without any problems.
Need help to install it too so if you have experience with digichat, that would be a plus too.
Server must be extremely reliable with very little to no downtime.
Please let me know what you can offer.

Your prices seem pretty steep compared to others ive seen out there like managed.com ....am i missing something here?
I also need someone who is capable of installing digichat on the dedicated server for me....someone with experience would be nice.
Windows would be nice because java is more stable on a windows machine.
Any others?

1000 is one heavy load on a chat prog - can you give a link to the site for everyone to look at so they can act/respond accordingly.

Well I would rather not post the url because it wouldnt make a difference which site its for, just that its up to 1000 concurrents. Probably more likely half of that but want room to grow too.
Anyone else can help me.

Can i ask why you are so eager to know? If you provide the right deal, you will know.
What does it matter which url it is....i can tell you its http://www.abc.com ...will that make a difference to you? Will you be able to meet my needs then?
Ive already mentioned its a site that requires hosting for digichat with up to 1000 concurrent users at any given instance. Its a perfectly legal site and beyond that it DOES NOT MATTER what site it is.
Im just looking for a dedicated server, if i have to give you all my info before i can get an offer from you, then ill try someone else.
Thanks.

'Windows would be nice because java is more stable on a windows machine.'
Actually it's more stable on a Sun platform, *nix handles it fine as it's developed for that platform - and a bit unpredictable on windows as the code can go a bit south dependent on browser & version.

Still looking for a dedicated server....im in the very serious stages now.
I found some nice ones for under $100 but am still weary of whether or not they can handle the 1000 concurrent users.
I think the minimal requirements right now are:
At least 1 gig of ram
Windows platform
1000 gb/month of BW
Beyond that not sure.
Anyone else have offers or advice as to what I need.
Thanks

Hi WebFan,
Would be happy to help you out and get a server up and running for you.
We dont provide windows on our servers, however, it looks like digichat will install and run under linux, which will give it a better overall performance.
The Best deal at 4Hosted i could find is:
RedHat Linux 9.0
Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHZ - 1024 MB ram
1000 GB Transfer
120 GB Hard Drive
24/7 Monitoring and True Server Management from 4Hosted.
Would be willing to help you setup Digichat as well, its no biggy as its mostly Java.
We can do this for $60 Setup/$100 Month
If interested you can contact me directly at Paul@4hosted.com or any of the sales team Sales@4hosted.com
Good luck :coolmusic

Will you allow me to try it first and see how it runs.....
If everything works out fine then ill take it.
The only thing is i have heard from more than one source that LINUX is not as good as Windows for this type of program.
