View Full Version : Mike Rowe is at it again

Mike Rowe is up to no good once again -- this time he has placed the 25-page WIPO he received from Microsoft's lawyers onto eBay.
At this point in time the bid is around $30, 000 USD for the documents.
-- should be interesting to see what Microsoft has to say.

Seriously, will this kid ever learn?
He has now made it very clear he was in it entirely for the money.
I guess I will have to give him yet another call regarding the situation. ;)

That rather fits Rowe right now methinks.
Who the crap would pay $30,6xx for a 25 page document? That's insane.

Have you seen the crap they put on Ebay...and people buy?

Think someone on ebay would pay $50 for a forged 25-page document from Mcrosoft? (note wrong spelling)

The interest in this guy is incredable.
I was on his ebay auction reading it, then noticed the counter, I then decided to refresh the page to see how many had hit the page while I was there, amazingly 27 - and I took maybe 30 secs to 1 min to read the page.

All i can say is wow we man !!

That thing is gonna sell big, who knows maybe MS have a rep or 2 bidding for it, so the general public don't get to see it.

the account is under his father's name.

I'm not sure how legal it is to sell legal documents though.

I'd be pretty much 100% sure that MS have included clauses forbidding him from doing that, more court cases all round everybody :confused5

Considering what's in it is probably all public information anyway, I doubt Microsoft would win a court case about it. In order to win, they would have to prove they own, or have permission to distribute/use, all third party information in it. They already made Rowe popular enough, they will probably just let it sell and the entire thing die out. Or they may be sitting back laughing that anyone would pay that much for such publicly available information.

Wish I had a Jacko doll, I bet those may be going for a fortune on ebay soon if not yet.

WTF??? It's at USD60,000 now. This guy knows how to get rich.

It is more than likely there are non-disclosure clauses, included in all the documentation as it's not all public domain info and what he's selling is basically the legal documentation served from MS's lawyers, and on his dads eBay account - not a clever dad either - just greedy all round. Family genetic trait maybe. :P

This guy should just settle for one lucky break instead of pushing his luck - hope MS take everything back for what he's up to and push for return of all docs so he can't sell the bloody things.

I'm not a big Bill fan but I don't like to see the p*** being taken to this extent either

But why would anyone want it for that kinda price? that sounds crazy. I should change my name to something similar with microsoft or intel.

I don't think these bids are legit.
I bet they are placed by kiddies who don't see the consequences.

I'll bet Rowe has some friends bidding for him too.

Toefur

Unless it's Microsoft bidding on it, there's no way that they are legit bids.

pro5ject
January 31st, 2004, 19:02
Heh,

I did look at maybe 5 or so profiles to the members that bidded on this, and what are they selling and buying, ps games, comp parts, vacum cleaners, music cd's. dvd films, and other stuff joe public would sell or purchase - so I come to the conclusion these are young people or people having a joke and bidding, or maybe his freinds as said above.

This will no doubt lead to more publicity if the price is high, so I guess it figures to get your mates to bid even tho you won't ever see the cash.

Hell if I would have known that legal documents were such hot sellers I would have sold Andre Agassi's letter of apology from when he hit me with a tennis ball at the 1996 U.S. Clay Court Championships. It was 3 pages long and was from famous person.

i tried to thank him, but my head was swollen to the size of a basketball after being pegged by the near 120mph serve, thus impairing my sight and speech.

now at US$200,000+, the kid has basically set himself up for good if he invests it right. Make a nice college fund but i doubt it will be spent on that. Well its a good way of making some cash and the public are always betting on stuff that will be worthless in about 5 weeks times. Its quite funny actually.

I doubt very much he'll get any money from it.

Whether he gets any money or not, he certainly is getting alot more attention from this. I was on that ebay page for about 2 mins and then refreshed it, he had about 500 more hits. I want that kind of traffic.

The attention he is getting is in no way a positive attention. In fact, it's negative and can harm him ever getting a good job. If companies see how he treated this Microsoft Affair, but they may be hesitant to allow him to work for them - he may just try the same act on them.

It now says its only for pre-approved bidders, and the bids only at about 8000. Poor Mike :applaudin

Q: You've decided to auction the legal letter from Microsoft on eBay. How much do you expect this eBay auction to raise when it ends in 5 days?

A: Well at first I didn't think I was going to get a bid on it at all. But now I have 191 bids totalling $204,699.00 USD. I have no idea how much it will come out to be in the end, we will have to wait and see.

Q: Whats the story with this new Mike Rowe marketing agency?

A: Oh. Well I have teamed up with people from Princeton University to start a marketing agency. We take peoples businesses who have a good idea or product but aren't getting the recognition they deserve and try to make their name get out there into the world.

Did he really think his ebay auction was at $204,000??? lmao.

As far as the 2nd question goes regarding the marketing agency - what experience does he have? Except stealing copyrighted material and trying to ue it as his.

If he was in the U.S. - good chance MS would have taken him to court.
