on http://www.freewebspace.net/help/space.shtml it says that 1 mb = 1000k, isn't it 1024k? Yeah, i know, how trivial... but still...

Hmm... How true how true:
If a provider claims to offer "unlimited" space, be careful. The server will be extremely slow if it isn't already! "Unlimited" space is specified in the search results as "999 MB". Most likely most of the unlimited hosts would not allow 999 MB...
Sounds Ron Seigel influenced ;)

The thing is, he can't come back, and probably won't anyways.

What good does the extra "i" do? I've never seen it before.

OK. I'll give it a try. It's supposed to end the in the computer world double use of for example k, kilo as meaning both 1000 and 2^10 (1024). Since the prefixes k, M, G and so on are already defined, these new prefixes were decided on.
In short....
In January 1999 IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) decided that the following prefixes should be used.
kibi (abbreviated to Ki, 2^10)
mibi (Mi, 2^20)
gibi (Gi, 2^30)
tebi (Ti, 2^40)
pebi (Pi, 2^50
exbi (Ei, 2^60)
The "bi" part just means binary. Kibi - kilo binary, mebi (or mibi) - mega binary...
It doesn't seem like it has been a hit among the masses though. Hope this helped. :D

He was never banned, or wasn't for longer than a day.
He didn't want to come back, and I doubt he will anytime soon.
It's a shame really. :(

I've noticed his name is now off the listings... maybe he was banned, although I remember emailing Chicken when it happened and he said that he wasn't banned.
Odd.
Ah well, life moves on.

He moved to another forum, and stayed their for a while... although he seems to have gone missing now. Although if you remember there was a legal case etc. coming up... so he's probaly put all his time into that.

He was banned.. .he was threatening me... saying he was "going to make my life a living hell" Something like that should be taken seriously... Threats over the internet are taken are serious as threats in real life - even in the eyes of the law. I told him if he emailed me or messaged me again, I was going to report him to his local police. He hasn't messed with me since - lucky for him.

oh.. I didn't know.. sorry that had to happen to you.
besides, he cannot afford to do anything 'illegal' as such.. but that's beside the point...

I remember you claiming that, even via instant messaging he denied all association with it. It seems a bit odd for him to have a grudge against you, I thought he was just angry at Peo.
Ah well, at least you stopped the threats...

Yes I claimed it -- because it was true -- I wouldn't "claim" something like that if it wasn't true. I have the screenshot somewhere around here -- Todd saw it, I showed it to him shortly afterwards.
He was upset at me because I told him to settle down because he was basically, in lesser words of it all, not being too nice to others... (there's more to it, but I don't remember exactly what was said on the boards), He got upset, and ICQed me, and told me that he "was going to make my life a living hell". And then both Peo and Todd told him to cool his jets and he got all steamed, and told them in more colorful words to "buzz off" and he said some words about me in email to them.
And it was him making the threats not me -- I was doing what was right.. If someone makes threats to you either in person or on the internet, it should be taken seriously.
So in other words, you don't want to cross me.... ;) Because you'll pay for it... It helps that I'm a part of the International Web Police and InterGov -- so I have people that can help me behind the scenes. :)
I know this is old as all heck -- but I would've posted when this originated but I was in the process of moving 1400 miles... :)
I'm done rattling now... :)

LeX, I swear most of the posts weren't showing yesterday. Nothing about Ron. This thread was totally confusing. Funny really. Must have been some database problem.

Strange, anyway I do still have the evidence that Ron was attacking RockerGrrl including the IP address it originated from.
Ron was banned for his actions and with proper cause. If anyone acted in the way he did they would be banned as well. RockerGrrl could have very easily pressed charges for its content and even though it was sent over the Internet it would be taken seriously.
Enough said, thread locked.
