transfering from computer to computer

i've got about 400 megs of files i need to transfer from my parents computer to mine.what is best method? lap link? any other suggestions?

set up an ftp server like warftp and download the files.

will it work on windows? also i only have a dial up connection. and my parents computer is a pentium 75. does any of that matter? would i have to set it up on both computers? thanks

If both computers have eathernet ports then make a standard cross over cable.

Incase you dont know the wire order for cross over, here it is:

1) Green/White
2) Green
3) Orange/White
4) Blue
5) Blue/White
6) Orange
7) Brown/White
8) Brown

Remember, this order is based oon the clip being on the bottom and going left to right.

Once you have made the cabel, plug it in to each computer (duh) and under Network Neighborhoods/ Places (depends on your os), setup a direct connection. One computer needs to be host, the other user. Once this is done you can access the other computer through your 'network'.
