As the market gets tougher and making enough $$$ for server hosts gets harder, making decisions with ad companies is a difficult thing, heck they may offer good cpm rates, but will they dish it out?

From your own experiences, can you guys list some satisfactory networks?

How is advertising.com?

Thanks

Ed

advertising.com has moved to bigger sites since the 'tech crash', but other than that they're pretty much old reliable. Not sure about the rates though, since i was one of the smaller sites that had to leave.

So advertsing.com only does a major company? How many hits would that be?

that'd probly be in the vicinity of 100,000 imps/month and upwards. Not that big... I think they're just trying to cut costs by cutting back on affiliates, so they're keeping the biggest. Makes sense if you think about it.

The biggest problem they seemed to have back then was solid rates, but nowadays that's not an issue seeing as any rate is pretty much satisfactory (although they probly have some of the better rates). Mostly CPC though, at least it was 6months ago, and i doubt it's changed.

sorry i'm not czar or moo, btw

yes i know supermoooooose name is pretty cool to say...

Anyway, i wouldn't say they're the most stable, but they're one of the most stable. Nowadays that's close enough, unless doubleclick likes your site

My main site with over 2 million imp. got in, but they are looking for branded sites, rather than impressions.
In fact, I told them I am willing to send impressions at a level they are comfortable with. At times like this, impressions don't really make a big diff.

As for payouts, April was good, while May's inventory is moving very slowly, with large amounts of defaults. I don't think I should post the rates, sorry.

Not to take the limelight completely away from Advertising.com, some other reputable banner networks of note are:

1. DoubleClick (duh!)
2. Engage Media (depending on location)
3. BMCMedia (SE Asia)
4. BlueFishNetwork (if they ever launch)
5. ValueClick
6. Click2Net
7. CJ
8. Websponsors.com
9. Burst Media
10. FastClick
11. Luna Network (though its appeal is declining rapidly)

Did you finally get the cheque from the Australian division?

Yes. I've been paid up until February, but have dramatically scaled down my exposure to the company. The benefits that they offer don't outweigh the trouble involved in dealing with their shoddy support team.

I still recommend the company for US and UK-based publishers, but I know several Australian publishers who have encountered the exact same troubles as myself (severely delayed payments, unanswered emails, aggressive phone 'support').
