I can't really explain this well. I just created a multiple monitor setup with my old monitor because it was sitting on my desk while I was doing some troubleshooting and I was bored. But now it thinks my old monitor is monitor 1 and my regular one monitor 2. The regular one (my Compaq) is set as primary... but when I boot up WinBar (one of those resource monitor thingys) starts on my old one (my Gateway) instead of my Compaq. Anyhow, I think this might have something to do with the fact that Windows has said the Gateway is monitor 1 and the Compaq monitor 2. Can I change this?

Control Panel/Display.. go to the settings tab, select the monitor you want as your primary monitor, check "Use this device as the primary monitor" and reboot.
You might have to manually move the taskbar across monitors though. It tends to get stuck on the old primary monitor.

Thing is, the monitor that was labeled 2 was the primary. I don't get that. The primary, which is my Compaq, was 2, and my add-on, my Gateway, was 1. Oh well, I took the card out and unplugged the 2nd monitor. Turns out I can't switch monitor focus (as in, start using the secondary monitor) while playing a game, which is what I really wanted to do (have Trillian open on monitor two, when someone comes on that I want to talk to, pause the game on monitor one and talk to them on monitor two. No minimizing and things.)
And I've tried moving the taskbar, it didn't seem to work. Ah well.

Are you using two video cards? It can help to check the BIOS and change "Init Display First" (or something similar to that) from PCI to AGP, or from AGP to PCI depending on what it's currently set to.

Ahh...that'd probably be it. Thanks. I'll remember that next time I'm bored enough to hook it up.
