I've been working on my site for about 1 month and finally finished the design. Tell me what you think and if it needs improvement. I just opened it to the public. You guys will be the first to see it.

Also, if anyone has opinions on the content rather than the design, I would appreciate hearing them.
Thanks,

PhotoPlus 5 (http://www.serif.com/photoplus5/index.asp)
Try PhotoPlus 5 by Serif. It's certainly not the best program out there, but considering it's completely free it's not too bad.

ok here it goes.
your layout is very, very nice, but i am a perfectionist and being a perfectionist it can help a lot and i feel is needed to be a web designer.
first of all. you need to change the banner. it needs to have a background to match the background, and to do this for the effect your going for is just make the banner without the color background so that its transparent. when you make the background of a banner transparent it makes a clean transition from the text or effect of the banner and the background.
second. you need to keep the title or whatever it is in the news section smaller and/or bold which would create a more cleaner appearence. if you dont know what im talking about it says:
"Companion Bar - Best Surf Company Ever - NEW! * * * * *"
third. take away the bold from the begining of each passage of news. that is optional but you can do what you want.
+ great colors
+ easy to use
+ not hard on the eyes
+ good interface effect
- crappy decision on link color for interface
- personal dislikes
overall: 8/10
comments: very nice job overall, great content.

Thanks for the tips icereation. I'm glad you spotted the banner background color. I noticed that it is better without the bold first letter in each paragraph.
I'm gonna move the companionbar paragraph once i figure out what else I should put there. I dont want my main page to be empty.
And as for the link colors for my interface, Im not sure what would look better than the white links I have now, being that white is part of my color scheme. I couldn't imagine any other color that would look better than white in my navigtional menu.
I'm also a perfectionist when it comes to my webdesign. I will stay up the whole night just to get something right and I cant sleep until its finished ;)
Thanks for the review.

the color of the link is fine. its just the rollover blue isn't too good looking on my end.
