How to promote my site

wats the easiest way to promote my site beside sending it to the search engines is there any other working ways to promote site with targeted hits without paying for any advertizing or stuff...

2. join start-page exchanges
3. post it on forums asking for reviewal
4. join trafficology newsletter and read their monthly newsletter where it lists unique promotion ideas that there members post to them

promoting your site is always hard. i used to run a graphic design community and finding vistors was always the problem..So this is what i did


i joined up with other graphic design community and start posting with my url as my sig...

i vist design site and send personal emails invinting them to have a look a my site, this way at least it not a spam.

i read, read and read about search enqine optimization <--- this helps allot i was ranked 1-5 on all major search enqiine.


At first this seems like it not doing anything, but by 1 year i have 1000 members and heaps of visotrs a day.. well i think i had that..hehe..

well i know that its all gona take some time. But the good thing is i am seeing some traffic to my site after posting my link to several ffa pages and sending it to search engines. but i dont think its listed in the search engines yet but i see some progress :applaudin learning new things everyday thats all i can say.
