Argh! I hate it too! I can't believe any webmaster would be dumb enough to stick comet cursor on their site! And I still have no idea how to kill those install on demand things automatically! Any ideas for Internet Explorer 5.01?

I agree! I love how they log everything you click and how it clogs up the system tray and how it slows down your computer! I absolutely love it!
It's cool (in some ways) but useless.
Coolin, you install those on demand things by pressing the download button whenever a demand comes up, and cancel if you already have it installed.

I've got it on my pokemon site (http://www.djcl.com/pe/), although that was only because they talked me into it by sending out my website and it's little bit of promo to all their affiliates. ;)
hehe, traffic went up considerably that week! :)

Uh-oh... you guys screwed up! HAHAHA!
COMET CURSOR IS SPYWARE! IT MONITORS ALL OF YOUR INTERNET ACTIVITY AND SENDS IT BACK TO THEIR SERVER... and believe me unstalling it will not do the trick.
Go to http://www.download.com and look up Ad-aware that shall remove the program's specific spyware components and I suggest you do it immediately.

I knew that, I sold my visitors for some spam... it was worth it, at the time. Welcome to the underground. ;)

Wow! That program is great! I downloaded it and scanned my system and found a whole bunch of spyware crap I didn't even know I had. It even got rid of that stupid webhancer agent that comes with Audiogalaxy satellite.
I'd recommend that everybody download this, even if you don't think you have spyware. Chances are that you do.

I frequently use Ad Aware to scan my system and it returns with nothing. I keep good care of my system :)
BTW, LeX, my point was to NOT install the thing. I want to get rid of that box that pops up. I do not want to install this ugly spyware.
Oh, well, in that case, I think there's a little box that you can check that's supposed to prevent the box from showing up for that particular on-demand thing. I think.

Just don't trust adaware and delete everything it reports. I think it simply goes by keywords. When I tried it out it reported maybe 20-30 of my own .txt and .html files as spyware. Some of them had the word "comet in the filename. I don't remember the others. That was enough for me not to trust it to find what I could delete from the registry. Check, check and double check.

I disabled the "Install on Demand" thing, but the stupid box still pops up! Stupid Internet Explorer.

I tried Linux Mandrake 7.2 and it's junk. It doesn't recongnize my sound card, and it doesn't run all that well. The screens take forever to pop up. It feels like I'm running the OS through a shell on a 56k modem. In other words, the thing lags on my P3 733MHz!

I had Comet Cursor running for a long time. So that's how I get so much spam? It searches for my email address whenever I submit stuff with it? Damn those bastards. One scary spam note, my families email, you know, the default from the isp, got some spam today. And I submit that address to NOTHING. I un-installec Comet Cursor awhile back when I heard it was spy ware. And this as-aware has found 110 spy-ware referrences so far. Hmm...that is scary. That's what I get from downloading a whole lotta crap from the i-net, then install, then un-install, all within the same minute.

I just reformatted today, but it wasn't because of spyware. It's because Windows was messed up. ;)
I was just looking at ad aware on C Net... I didn't know alexa is spyware! The people who write spyware are a bunch a jerks if you ask me...

You could visit http://www.sailormoon.net and view the source. I saw it before but I forget the name of the cursor. It uses javascript and is just like comet cursor except you don't have to download any stupid programs. And..it's not like the other cursors which extend the friggin page. That's so annoying. Anyway check it out. :)
Oh, that's.... interesting. I was shocked to see a billion Sailor Moons staring at me when I opened that page. :o
That's pretty cool, most scripts places the image at the bottom right hand corner..

I think it uses the same javascript (a little modified of course) as those annoying things that follow your mouse.
