View Full Version : PLEASE ADVISE!... :)
I have a doman zero domain, the free one. I read you guy's talking about the billing, administrative, technical contact info in the whois database. All of that points to me and my email address! Can I possibly transfer my domain without domainzero knowing and not paying them? Not that I would because it's probably illegal, but just wondering if it's possible:)
Thank you

You are correct but maybe you don't realize one tiny thing. Although the domain is yours, and you are correctly listed as all contacts, you must have missed the discussions (or didn't read the TOS), that your domain is locked with domainzero and cannot be transfered.
This lock can only be removed by the registrar, in this case domainzero. I will suggest something to you however. Your domain is actually registered at enom.com and you might want to set up an account tehre and contact them asking them to transfer (push) the domain from domainzero's account to the account you created.
If all of this is confusing you, then simply:
Go to enom.com.
Create account there.
Email enom asking them to push your domain into that account. Make sure you mention that it was registered at domainzero.
will they do it, is it legal?

I'm an experienced domainzero transferrer now. Itz hard to find out , but THIS way it worked for my 3 domains (100% succesfully transfered , no special costs).
- e-mail eHostMaster@NetworkCommerce.com (I know itz weird , but these are the only people who can actually help you) with the e-mail there is in your whois and just ask to unlock your domain. It can take up to 1 week before they reply , but they will unlock it without problem.
- go transfer your domain. Best is to use a enon reseller like powerpipe or enom itself , but it will also work with others (most likely it will take more time + u lost all your settings)

Legal? Well, I can see where you are coming with that, but I think the deal is that domainzero is switching over to another registrar and enom is willing to shift your domain to them (so you can keep your current DNS, etc.) services with them that you've set up (whether or not you've set them up).

Actually that's more like a $0.25 question :) -If you are not the admin/bill/tech contact, simply log into your domain and make the changes, hit enter. Good to go. There are no restrictions on this.

And how on earth are you going to do that?
You do that by logging into your domain, like Chicken said above. ;)
