Hosting My Own Site

I have a router, and I was wondering how to host my own server...I tried PHPDev or something to the effect...it worked and all, but only I could view the files in the folders. If anyone can help me or give me a link to a how-to guide or something, I'd appreciate it greatly.

make sure your provider allows you to host your own server first, some have some really strict policies on such things. Search the forum for setting up your own server, there are some really good post on the topic.
