you sure your nameservers are still active

Was it a .com.kg or a .kg? I know the .com.kg's take a few days/weeks to activate. The regular .kgs may take just as long though. I've never registered .kg, $122 seemed rather steep for a domain name.:) I'd give it a few more days, and if it still doesn't work, e-mail the webmaster of domain.kg and ask for it to be manually activated.

I'm wondering about those sub.kg's too. Does any free domain host who supports more than com/org/net take them? Or are they tricky like the sub.ru's?

It depends. Some will allow it, but others seem to dislike foreign domains. :)

Your *.*.kg domains will most likely take 2~3 weeks to be activated. I waited a long time before my domain started to work. Just wait!

it isn't .com.kg but my .com.ru took a long time

This is sort of off the subject, but how exactly do you register .com.ru domains? Since you register .com.kg's at domain.kg, I went to domain.ru to register .com.ru's. The site is in Russian, but there's a link at the top that says "in english" but that page says it's offline... Is there another page you need to go to?

Oh, okay. Thanks keith.

But gees, you have to fill out that long form...seems like domain.kg's a bit more userfriendly. :)

we just payed a whopping $140 Australian (about 280 US) for our .com.au domain. I find it amazing they allow this? And im not sure why we cant just get .au's ? Wierd country this is. Oh, you cant even sell .com.au's either.

Actually it would have cost $70US not $280, it's the other way around ;)

52 American Cents = 1 Australian Dollar

Anyways, I just want to say you got ripped off. Our company got our .com.au for $120.

People are in this business for money so anything that makes them money they will charge for

Isn't it odd that people are paying hundreds of dollars for a .*.au third-level subdomain while you can get .*.kg and .*.ru for free? :)

And .co.uk's are only $8.00. :)

Simple, Image is everything. :) I know that I personally wouldn't buy from a .kg or a .ru based online store unless it was a very large name. It the same as ordering from a Geocities website or another free site. If the person can't afford around $10 a year for a domain I would never trust them to be around to offer customer support or even process the order for that matter.

If it's for a personal site then I really can't see a problem. I prefer a .com - .org name mainly because everyone knows about them.
