Help the guy out. Always nice to help someone out, if you aren't gonna use it. Good luck

Wouldnt it be more cost effective and/or more timley to just buy it? Its like $150. Not exactly a fortune, and you don't have to wait a very long time nor do you have to drink a specific beverage.

When Pepsi points were around about 7 or 8 years ago, me and my brother used to raid houses at night that were being built and we took the caps and labels from pepsi bottles and in about a month we each got $900 mountain bikes.

Dumpster diving where? I always hear Americans online talking about great finds when going dumpster finding, but over here all there is in dumpsters is soiled diapers, rotten banana's, and the occasional dead body.
Where does one find a dumpster ladden with goodies?

Well here in america, go behind Targets, Walmarts, BestBuy, etc... All the big chain stores. They throw crap away all the time.

Here's a plan: Head to some bottle depots, and dig through all the caps. I did that once, and got like 6 "Free Pepsi" liners. Hey, when you're 12, a free Pepsi is a good deal. Except you have to pay friggin 10 cents deposit still...

Bottle Depots?

Recycling centers perhaps?
Anyway, offices and other places that are likely to have computers tend to throw away perfectly good P1xxs and 486s, working but slow.

Bottle Depot - Business that takes back your "empties" and gives you money in return. They send back all the stuff to be recycled (and make some profit from that), and I assume they get money from the government because when we buy bottles, we pay a deposit fee. We get the fee back when we bring bottles back to the bottle depot. So, I've never really thought about it, but you must do the same thing down there...?
Anyways, they remove the caps, and you might be able to look through them.

Bottle depots are popular around here, well with homeless.
Stores have a limit of 24 items returned, per person, per day, while bottle depots have no such limits.

yeah here we have to pay 5 cents deposit and we get that back when we return them. Then the store or "empty redemption center" they get 7.5 cents from the recycling place they get 2.5 cents as a handling fee and then the recycler does it in bulk and they make good money.
But I thought of that actually. I thought of going to the joint and saying give me all ur dew caps.

The only dumpster diving that I have done that resulted in a good find was at a private gated community after 4th of july. I found a big paper bag full of firecrackers and a zippo lighter. My brother claims to have found a slighty broken playstation 2, 2 controllers, and nightfire in the disc drive, but I think he got that from a friend.

Small mom and pop stores are your best bet.
There was a huge thread over at teh [H] back in the day, but I dunno what happened to it.

I never went near anything commercial because those dumpsters were really tall and you could go in and not be able to get back out.

Hmm, I work at a chain store in Canada, and yes, we compact our trash. Very little of value is thrown away...and then it is all crushed. Plus, at my store their is a Restaurant, and believe me, you don't want to be wading through that garbage...

Okay, I think I have the solution that you've all been looking for. I've designed a program which generates random DEWU codes (trust me, it works. I have an advanced degree in quantitative methods analysis). I've done all the hard work figuring out the programming rules and codes. All you need is excel to run the program. Furthermore, you can use the program repeatedly, giving you a new set of 50 codes each time.
A caveat however: There is an enormous (we're talking billions) number of possible codes and Mountain Dew does not use all of these. Thus, there's a bit of luck involved, BUT it does work. Personally, I've gotten 48 points by simply cutting and pasting codes. Not bad since its saved me (1) $48 and (2) time from digging through the trash.
Anyway, I'm posting this for anyone that's interested in this program. Contact me by email at Chauncee777@yahoo.com for further information.
By the way, this is serious so don't bug me if you're not serious too. :bandit2:

When I worked at The Sports Authority, we only threw away boxes into the compactor.
Open bottles, broken merchandises, all of that was RTV (Return to Vendor). Sometiems the manager would buy us drinks from the cooler and we'd RTV the bottles.

The generator is probably against the rules and anything you get from it would be invalidated if MD found out...
