does anyone here have any experience with datapacket.net (http://www.datapacket.net) ?

I would apprechiate if anyone could comment on their
economy package @ Economy package (http://www.datapacket.net/vhosting.htm)

Also, if anyone could explain to me how much unlimited transfer actually is I would be really thankful. I do understand that there is no such thing, but how much transfer can I use up before my "unlimited transfer webhost" shuts me down? Are we looking at 2GB, 20GB or even more????

just one more question... :)
I am looking for a host that has the following:
*win2000
*20GB transfer/month
*200 mb webspace
*multiple domains / multiple ftp
*ms SQL Server (20mb)
*support for SSL
*aspupload component
*ability to host .se domains

Is it possible to find a good webhost that offers all this for about $30/month? If not, how much do you think a package like this should/would cost?

Thanks!

We just signed up for their standard package, seems to work nice so far, got replies to all emails really fast. I know about the unlimited thing, they say in fine print if you suck up too many resources they'll give you 5 days to leave. Probably will happen to us (our bandwidth needs are ridiculous) but you should be fine. 20gb/month as in transfer only or bandwidth or both?

Thanks for your reply!

Sorry but I am not sure about the difference between transfer and bandwith in this case.

We just want to use the server for hosting our website. It's a regular informative website, no big down- or uploads.

Anyway, I was just lookin at www.m6.net anyone have any xperience with them?

Unlimited transfer is NOT recommended. There is no such thing.
Read their terms or ask them "what the limit is for their UNlimited policy"
If you are lucky you may get a notice...most often you will just find your site deleted, suspended, etc.
Its unfortunate that people still go for such things.
The good hosters out there will be happy to see the day when competitors STOP advertising such things.
two words: Buyer Beware!

well, yes I do understand that "Unlimited anything" don't really exist. but that was not really what I was asking, what I would like to know is what you think they (the webhosts) would consider beeing ok. thank you!

I would suggest you read the fine print everywhere. Even with DPN they say in their agreement that while they advertise "unlimited" transfer they will kick you (with 5 days notice) if you suck up too much resources. We'll probably end up getting booted, but it's worth a try until we find a dedicated (vs. virtual) host.

Bandwidth = how much data is transferred by the server to the visitors; this is the main issue with hosting; bandwidth per month usually equals visitors X average # of page views per visitor X average size of page; basically this is something that sucks up the host's internet connection.

Transfer = how much data you upload/download directly to/from the server --> as in using an FTP client
