FileZilla (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/).
Last time I used it, it couldn't even connect to a server. Don't know why when others weren't having the same problem. :(

Best free program I’ve used for ftp-ing so far is LeechFTP. Got it from Downloads.com at http://www.download.com/3120-20-0.html?qt=leechftp&tg=dl-2001
I’ve been using it for over a year now without problems. Prefer it to Dreamweaver’s built-in ftp. It’s simple, doesn’t default to any particular site. You can save all your various website and host settings as bookmarks, and select as needed. Small file: 623k. Give it a try.

FileZilla (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/).
Last time I used it, it couldn't even connect to a server. Don't know why when others weren't having the same problem. :(

Recently I started getting problems with FileZilla, too :confused4

Now I use FTP Surfer (freeware) and it's a really good program :classic2:

Filezilla always seems to be a good choice.

You could use TOTAL COMMANDER http://www.ghisler.com/
Not only an FTP but it is an alternative to windows explorer and also is a zip utility.
It was once called windows commander but M$ said otherwise.I have used it for years and used as my alt to windows explorer.Used it as an FTP.The zip is really easy.Just click a zip file, right click, select unpack.

Check it out!

I recommend FTP Surfer (http://www.whispertech.com/surfer/). It's a pretty good, free FTP client.

WS_FTP LE (a VERY OLD version) is free for personal use, as long as when you install you say you are a student, going to use at home, etc. (You aren't going to LIE now, are you?)

Only problem is, it can't be found at ipswitch's website anymore as they've replaced it with the more recent versions which are only 30-day trials.

I found it here (http://www.wiesweg.de/ws_ftp/) though...

If not, I have the installer somewhere on my HD.

Yepp, it's the best FTP program, in my opinion :classic2:

You can use I.E. as a FTP client, but make sure "passive mode" is enabled.

And when your username contains @ you might get problems.
