Looks alright to me, as you withdraw funds with a free Visa card from an ATM anywhere in the world.

Anyone use iKobo or have any warnings regarding it?

Don't use them, quite a few people are not happy with them. Just search for ikobo scams, etc...

Paypal doesn't allow sign-ups from certain countries and Malaysia is one of it. If i had Paypal, i can make alot of money.

*raises eyebrows* 'richie rich neighbour Singapore'? :p I'm nowhere near rich! Honest! ;)

I reckon Singapore is richer than Malaysia. Here in Australia I hear of a lot of people travelling to Singapore for business, but never Malaysia. International trade here is mainly with Japan, Singapore and New Zealand... So going by this it probably isn't in PayPal's interest to accept Malaysian applications. I donno....

BTW, I have decided to keep away from iKobo. Too many horror stories.

I use ikobo and don't have complaints about them so far. Anyway keep us posted with your future experiences. I will do that too.

My reason for using them is that they cover my eastern europe country so I don't have another alternative.

i'd always associated Malaysia as being a tourist destination because of how cheap everything is over there.

I choosed Ikobo. Because it covers my country and its rate is low. I have used it for one year and I have not met any problem.

I use them for a while now. It works just fine, the person to person money transfers I mean. I had to send money to my brother but I didn't have the time to go to a bank. I used ikobo and sent him the money online, he received them in a matter of minutes. Haven't had any problems yet. The visa card works just fine, both in my case as well as in my brother's.
Bottom line, it's alright, really works worldwide. I don't have any warnings.

While your review is interesting did you really have to bring this thread back from the dead?

That's pretty harsh, sating something like that. Makes us ikobo users feel quite uncomfortable and to tell you the truth so far I don't have any reasons to believe any bad postings about ikobo. It's been working just fine for me and I know of a couple of other people who also haven't had any problems with them as far as I know. I'm not here to defend ikobo or something like that, I'm just stating my personal experience which happens to be a good one. At least until now that is how things have been.
Sorry again for "bringing this thread back from the dead" but I couldn't help myself.

First time I used Ikobo, I sent money to Phillippines 3 wks. prior to Christmas. Their website say 3 to 5 business days. My brother did not receive the iKard they promised before Xmas and it took them another 3 weeks after Xmas before he received it. In other words, he had no money for Xmas because of their delays and on top of that, I called them many times and would not even respond back. If you call them, it is very difficult to get a hold of anyone there. Then, their Chat site never ever worked!

The next incident, in order for them to raise the sending limit say to $3,000 you have to send them very very sensitive information such as, passport, drivers license, SS#, Birt Cert., and Utility Bill. This is very scary because that means they know more about you now. PayPal never ask for any of this information – unfortunately, Paypal failed to send the debit card to this sub-contractor that is why we were desperate to use Ikobo right away. So far, I lost $1,000 dollars sending money through UPS to India 2 yrs. ago and now I am surfing the net about them and finding out that their organization could be from Nigeria. I now wish I did not send Ikobo any of our sensitive information especially since they have a very poor service…be careful!

The second incident is one of our sub-contractor is visiting US. We wanted to pay him through Ikobo so that he receives his ikard here while travelling. He of course, doesn't want to open up a bank acct. here because he needs US ss#. All of a sudden, ikobo blocked our acct. for sending for someone here in vegas. The most frustrating of all is I called many times and again I can't get a hold of someone there, as usual their chat room doesn't work. A week later someone finally e-mailed me with a short and cold response... "Why are sending money to someone who lives in the same area?" So, I e-mailed back and explained about the sub-contractor travelling." That was May 25th and it is now June 2nd I still haven't heard from them. So, again, I called them up patiently 3 times as nobody ever answer the phone. Unless, you wait for a long time, their line sounds like they have cut you off. I patiently waited and waited as I was determined to solve this issue. Then, I finally talked to a Daniel and asked me all the security questions. I have told him that he can call our banker to verify who we are. So, then he said he will remove the block on our account. I noticed he did remove the block so, when I tried to send money all of a sudden “ACCOUNT IS BLOCKED!”

I say, if you can find other ways to send money do it. Don’t use IKOBO. If you hear anything good about Ikobo in the internet, believe me I found out they have been posting the bulletin boards all over the internet to say good things about their own organization.

This is soooooooo old news. Besides I've seen this message posted on different forums. Not even sure it's genuine. It may be, but still, that's a long time ago and tings might have changed. I'm not defending anyone here but I don't see the point in bringing up dead issues.
