Looking for info: we have a Q3 dedicated scheme at pair.com at the moment, we are close to exceed the traffic limit and next scheme looks much too expensive. Do you know any of similar for a lesser price? :-)

I am looking at managed.com, am scared by the self-managed server there and the info on lack of support, as we can not let our serve to be off - we sell online and need it working :-)

At the moment we have an Athlon XP2800 with 1GB of RAM, 400GB of transfer per month for $599 which is A LOT. The only good thing is that we have support provided any time we need it. Also - we are able to do regular mailings to our subcsribers via pair.com, legal, of course, only to our website news subscribers.

Any down hours will mean lost payment and in future lost customers, so working server with good traffic and efficient support is what we are looking for. Actually we needed technical support only a couple of times during these 3 yrs with pair.com, the server has not been self-managed though.

servermatrix is under staffed (reply/action for an emergency ticket takes around 3 hours if you're lucky), so if you're looking for efficient support, look elsewhere.

they just got a new datacenter and are hiring more staff...
I have never waited more than 45 minutes and that was for small things, reboots are around 10 minutes. The higher the management plan, the more support you get, you also get 1-2 hours of their admin services.

You can also go through a reseller which might provide better support.
