Well just let see the mail I receive 10 mn after register :

"We are sorry to inform you that we have found a critical mistake in your
signup information. The Contact Name that you supplied for your
account has been determined to be invalid.

SiteSled.com operates under very tight supervision. We keep a very
close eye on all signups so that we can delete abusive users before they
cause problems."

So I'm always searching the critical mistake ....... :rolleyes2

Our services were offline for about 24 hours when a critical drive
in our array blew out with little warning. We had an extremely fresh backup
copy of all our members sites, and service was restored after 24 hours
to all sites.

If you are still having any issues, let us know. Sorry I didn't post here
during the event..We were very busy addressing support requests and
inquiries related to the HD Crash.

All systems are go, all sites are back up, fast, and ad free.

Thanks,
Phil

DarkTemplar194 - we currently do not support domain hosting.
We DO plan on supporting domain hosting later this year. Plans
for PHP/MySQL are in the works, but we're looking at around 6
months at the earliest to have it implemented for users.

hey sitesled, i noticed one thing about the hosting. my website is php and i use the code:
<?php inlcude"test.php"; ?> in some pages. but i never see the test.php in those pages. My test server displays ok, but when I try at your place, it will not work.

how comes?

sitesled
June 26th, 2004, 13:59
Rianon - we look forward to having you as a member

Iouni - we currently don't accept signups from china due
to 1000s of abusive signups daily from that region.

MikeBuzzsaw - No support for domains at this time. We
are working to support domains by Fall '04.

Success - Absolutely No Porn!!

Eric - what is your account name? I will look into your
upload headache. Email me at staff(at)sitesled.com

Pinksea - The only ads we display are on in our
public forum areas, the main pages of our site, and
there is a banner on top of the member control panel.
We do not place ads on our users sites. The only
ads we're running on our main site (sitesled.com) and
forums are banners and text links.. so no headaches
from popups to worry about.

ESC - what do you mean already 404? Do you mean
your account was removed due to some sort of TOS
violation or invalid signup data? Please provide a few
more details so we know what you're posting about.

Let us know if you have any more questions!

Thanks!
Phil

Hello zolusz,

I'm not sure why you expected all those features. If you checked
our site out before you signed up you should have seen that we
do not support php/mysql/domains. What we do is offer
30 Gigs/mo transfer and 100Mb of storage with No Ad space
in return for the basic hosting functionalities folks require.

If you're a programmer or an advanced webmaster you probably
would be happier some place else. However, if you want to
send an email to staff(at)sitesled.com and let us know what
your goals are with the site, how much traffic you expect, etc
along with the features you need we will review your requirements
and try to come up with a solution for you.

Thanks,
Phil

Great webhosting. I can recommend sitesled.com.

sitesled
August 10th, 2004, 19:59
Jas-Games - This question has been addressed many times.
Requiring people to enter valid contact information cuts down
on fraud by about 95%

It is true our service may not be for everyone. What do we to gain
from running a completely unmanagable host ..what good are
records if none of the information is correct? We would we
want to host even 1 account that didnt' want to cooperate on
the most minimal of levels ?

It is also true that many fly by night type of free hosts don't
care if their records are full of trash or not. We are not one
of those companies.

We hope that you will hop on and take a free ride with us.

Simuck - Account activation usually occurs in less than 24 hours.
Last week one of our guys welcomed a newborn into their family
and new accounts were mistakenly not validated by his temporary
replacement. Please email me at staff(at)sitesled.com and let
me know if you still need any assistance.

Pratista - We do allow files over 3mb, we allow .exe and .mp3.
In fact, we support nearly every file type out there. YOU MUST
have a valid functioning website if you're transfering a lot of files
per day. Like, if we notice you upload 5 20mb files and they
are getting a lot of downloads and you don't even have an index
page for your site... your account would be removed. We are
not a remote file storage service, or anything like that. We are
a freehost for websites. I just wanted to make sure you were
clear on that to avoid any problems down the road ;-)

Let us know if you have any more questions.

Ricky, because you didn't enter valid details for your account your
application was rejected. It is common knowledge that we do not allow
fraud in our system even though we are a free host.

We have never stopped taking applications in our history so I'm not
sure if that was a competitor or something posting that message.

We now have over 7000 accounts. Check out our site and our
discussion areas and see what our users have to say.

I'm using sitesled.com too and I'm happy with it. There are just some quirks though..

1. some ip range are banned. (Strange, in some school lab I could log-in. In the other buliding, I can't. ^^, IP problem I guess)
2. Sign-up info must be authentic
3. No downloads sites (I mean, no purely download sites, ie html's with links only)
