Hi everyone!!
I'm looking into getting into the hosting business and am looking for a reseller package that has plenty of features to sell. I'm totally new so please don't bang me with offers. Please just provide me an outline with what you provide and what makes your package better than the competition
Also, company needs to be established. Please post server specs and how long you have been in business. 24x7 support would be a plus.
My range is $20 to $40 per month. I already have some a few canidates but more are welcome! Quality of service and features are more important to me than space and bandwidth!

UnitHosting, could you please respond to the accusation made by another host that you are lying about your hard disks and you are actually using IDE hard disks?
Also, could you please tell me how long you have been in business, it is not stated on your website. I also read on this forum that one of your servers was unplugged for 2 days, could you tell me what you have done to prevent this from happening in the future?
Your packages are good but I'd like these questions to be answered if possible

That's a great package JodoHost :)
I infact signed up for a trial account with you in December of last year. I cancelled that trial account because I wanted to stick with linux hosting that time. But you were not offering reseller packages back then. When did you start them? I'm also curious how you manage your servers all the way from India and keep everyone happy (I've seen some good reviews about you at sitepointforums.com)
Also, how does a reseller become a full-fledged host with my own servers once I feel confident with my business. Do hosting companies provide some sort of migration plan? What do they cost? I'm still looking for more packages from other companies

The best way to start hosting is the way that you are doing it. Starting off with the reseller account and then working your way up to the dedicated servers. You can get a dedicated server at any time. And if you use WHM/cPanel, you can transfer all your accounts to the dedicated server almost effortlessly.
This is what we offer.
1 gig of space
30 gigs of transfer
with WHM/cPanel
We have been in business since December. And have not received a single complaint about our services. Our server is in the managed.com data center in San Francisco and is fully monitored. Since getting an uptime monitor, we can show our uptime. 100%.
If you are interested in this offer, please goto our secure ordering page.

Hi, yes, we only started offering reseller packages in late january. How do we manage our servers? Hosting companies access their servers remotely via Terminal Services (Windows) and SSH (linux). But we also have access to the power system of our servers via APC. We can power cycle our servers easily. We have also an expensive state-of-the-art KVM switch set up that gives us console video from all our servers. That allows us to watch a server reboot, change network settings freely, reset terminal services, analyze crashes, diagnose hardware problems, reinstall an operating system, etc. KVM switches are used by companies to manage their datacenters remotely from their corporate office or support centers (so that is the sort of access we get). We also have an internal network firewall through which we can effectively shield our servers from DOS attacks and monitor all network traffic as well as set extensive security policies.
We offer managed server clusters to our resellers once they start earning a confortable income from their venture. A typical 3-server cluster (2 linux, 1 windows) with us costs around $1000/month which would include MS SQL and $1000 worth of ASP components. It would also include migration costs. This might seem expensive but most of our resellers make the switch when they have a comfortable gross of $5000 to $6000 per month. Our managed solution includes full system management so you can save alot of $$$$$ by depending on our administrator for linux or windows administration

JodoHost, your rates are pretty expensive compared to how much disk space you give. I decided to sign up for your SilverHost plan ($70/month) because I thought I'll be needing at least 5GB of disk space
I'll come back here and post a review in a few weeks. My account just got activated and I'm going through this step-by-step guide :)

You can oversell our disk space and bandwidth allocations. That means if you have 5GB of space available in your SilverHost plan, you can easily sell 15 to 20GB of space without paying overages. It really depends on how much your customers use. Our shared customers typically use not more than 20% to 25% of their allocation
We believe in quality above all. The maximum capacity on our web servers is 73GB as these are SCSI hard disks (infact 2 SCSI hard disks in RAID1). SCSI hard disks perform much better than IDE/SATA hard disks and gives our customers a better hosting experience. Most hosting companies here use IDE/SATA hard disks which are cheaper and have better capacity (upto 200GB). We can't beat them in terms of disk space but we can beat them in terms of Quality of service and server speed.
You must also see that our reseller packages include so many premium services you can sell to your clients. MSSQL, Cold Fusion, ASP.NET, VPS, shared ssl, etc. I consider our packages a bargain.
