Have to find out something that's interesting, unbelievable and amazing. And it must be actual events or incidents.
Any ideas?
Was thinking of the UFO sighting in Mexico, and some Area 51 related stuff.

Or why yawning is contagious?
I have always wanted a freakin explanation for that. Maybe someday :-P

when you yawn, it opens up a vein that goes to your brain, thusly, more blood goes to your brain. yawning being contagious is just like a monkey see monkey do thing. you notice something, so you feel the need to do it. kinda like when you say "dont look there", you become curious and look there.
i think it can be explained with either:
- curiousity
- became part of your selective attention
- unconscious
- being an ---
- peer pressure
- a mix of the above.. :/
edit:
oh yeah, could also be explained by modeling or observational behavior. you see someone do something, and it interests and try it as well. dont remember the name or the theory or explanation behind it, i just remember the name bandura.
here are two pages i found:

They don't want scientific facts. They want incidents or events that are interesting, not a Guiness World Record.

Err, but these types are believable.
I think they want something like the Bermuda Triangle (done to death), the missing ship thingy which stabme posted and those mysterious-but-true stuff.

Yep, Uhmmm... there was one other thing i can remember, I had to write comprhension in it when i did my SATs exams... Anyway, here goes:
There used to be a stone mark on a road in germany, I think it was called marker 56. Im not sure though. But one thing I know is that about 70 car crashes took place there in the space of about 1 year... thats more than one car crash a week! now, a scientist, placed a copper box underneath the marker, and after that no crashes took place. then, he removed it, and about 5 crashes took place, so he put it back there and the copper box hasnt been moved scince. its said that the stone marker has a magnetinc feild that was drawing things to it... weird... but it happened! Hope this is interesting lol ^_^

Tishi, that is super interesting. Any idea where I could read more information about that? I am not used to be awake by 1 PM and I have time on my hands :-p

They said that the Philadelphia Experiment wasn't entirely true, so I probably can't use that. :(
Regarding Mary Celeste, I might go with that, but I'm interested in the Marker 56 thing. Do you have any additional info about that? Can't find anything on Google.

I don't know about this, but have you guys heard about the pyramid effect (on the web I found it named 'pyramid power' so naming may differ). It is not well documented on the internet but it dates from the ancient Egypt.
It is believed that there is some sort of energy forming in the pyramid at 1/3 from the base to the top. Using the right angles and materials and placing, people have found this interesting effect. If you put, lets say a rasor blade, in the center of the pyramid at 1/3 distance from the base, it will stay sharp for far longer than a normal rasor blade. if you use them of course.
Some stories (haven't found books or evidence, cause I haven't looked) say that the egyptians believed that they pharaoh will come back to life after like 3000 years if put in the right place in the pyramid.
You can even try to build one yourself and try the experiment. Seems that the bigger the pyramid the better. Also, the shape can also be a cone with the right angles amd many more shapes.

I decided to do the Marker 239 thingy, it's simple and easy to explain. Speaking of alive thingies, I just thought of Andy Kaufman
