Would anyone please suggest a discussion forums application with the following:
1. Neat Customizable Interface
2. Easy to Setup & Maintain
3. Fast & Secure
4. For a relatively small implementation with light traffic
5. PHP & MySQL based
6. Small Package (preferably in a few Kb's)
7. Free!
Thanks guys.

I'm using phpBB right now. Great features but lacking in a few areas.

Personally, I like blazeboard (http://www.bbhacks.com) better than phpbb.

http://www.revamp.net is a remotely hosted board, has no ads and is quite good.

Actually, revamp.net is not a board, but only an ad-free remotely hosted cgi-service that has as an option, an ultraboard.
You can get an ultraboard (Perl/mySQL) and put it on your site, but I don't like them.

Too bad Burning Board (http://www.woltlab.de) is in german, it's a nice board that looks a lot like vBulletin, but it isn't, they just based the look on it. I started to translate it, but I didn't want to have to restart when a new version comes out, so I stopped.
They're suppose to make an english version soon. Hope it will come out soon.

BlazeBoard is great... expect for the fact that after you install it there are some major bugs in it still, and you have to hunt through their site's forum to find all the bug fixes and edit the PHP code to make it work right. Even registering a new user doesn't work right (all the fields are off by one) unless you go through and fix the bug. Now that I have it working completely (I hope) I like it, though. Looks a lot better than phpBB to me.
