Hey,
I need web hosting for my domain
I'd love free but I'm willing to pay up to $5.00/month but no more, I'm much too broke to even pay that much, sadly.
I'd like 200-500MB storage
(actually, sadly, it's hard to tell how much storage I will need, most of my files will just be .htm or .php documents with a few gif, .jpg, .wav files.
3GB bandwidth
5-10 subdomains
FTP access
CPanel (Not NEEDED but really wanted)
CGI / Perl / PHP / SSL
MySQL
Allowed a few .wav files (none illegal, they're all my friends and I use them on a few of my pages, none are more than 30 seconds long).
Allowed, blogger, .wavs,
This is a personal site. I already have my own domain.
ABSOLUTLY NO POPUPS/BANNERS
<b>Excellent uptime, I've had such horrid experience with massive downtime, please suggest only hosts that don't crash twice a day</b>
Thanks

Do you know if clubhost.us allows subdomains?

Do you mean you want to signup for a subdomain, or you have a domain and want to host subdomains off of it?

Yes, subdomains are fully supported.

Actually we have something even better that is also available
.... wildcard DNS.

With wildcard DNS, your account can respond to an infinite
number of subdomains and deliver different content for
each subdomain name. (Only available on domain accounts)

OMG I'm in LOVE!
I've got to get this!!!!!! =D
Oh one more question, I'm not sure if I read somewhere that you'd be adding more storage space than 250MB (which would probably be adequate but it might eventually be too little) is this true?

Actually we scaled the FREE accounts back from "Unmetered"
to "250 MB" recently so that they wouldn't compete so much
against the lower end of our paid account classes.

To date, and after seven years up and running, we have yet to
see anyone actually use more than 200 MB on any FREE account.

What if someone max out the space? Can they request more?

Amz, I'm sorry for all of these questions as you guys have tried quite hard to have them all answered on your site and in your forums, but some of the posts a bit outdated.
I signed up to the forums, how many posts/days do I need to be active before I can apply?
It it 30 days of activation?

I believe, theres no activation wait, just 30 posts in the next 30 days then 15 every month...not sure about that though

Actually your account is already fully 100% activated
and running even though you cannot currently use it
because your domain isn't setup to use it yet!

All hosting accounts are activated instantly although it
may take a couple of days to get up and running in
your case because you have a domain account.

What you will need to do is login to your registrar
where you purchased your domain and change the DNS
servers to "NS.CLUBHOST.US" and "NS2.CLUBHOST.US"

Once that is done, your domain should be attached to
your new hosting account within 24 to 48 hours.

As for the posts question, there is currently no posting
requirements at Clubhost.

I suppose I shall now have to watch the new Clubhost closely then. :bandit2:

New Clubhost? Huh? :confused4 We're probably the oldest FREE hosting provider
still running and will be at 8 years this upcoming January.

Oh ... or are you referring to the recent service policy changes? ;)

As a FREE account .... NO .... but then as I said, nobody has
ever needed to upgrade for reasons of web space in the entire
7+ years that the FREE hosting project has been open. Most
upgrades are made to add new features or to release the
the restrictions imposed on FREE accounts.

Does that mean you are stuck at 250 MB? No, not really ....

Since a few of our company branches share the same network as
Clubhost FREE hosting, all accounts at Clubhost can be upgraded
to paid accounts at either AMZ Web Hosting, Cybertoad Networks,
or After Dark Hosting instantly with no downtime and the web space
can be upgraded from 250 MB all the way up as far as 75,000 MB.
Clubhost members also get a $5 discount at signup time at all those
services for upgrading.
