Choppy sound

If its sound from a CD, its choppy, and it doesnt matter what CD it is nor what I play it in (well, between the few Ive tried: PowerDVD and VLC mediaplayer for DVDs, Windows Media Player for CDs). Both music CD's and movie DVD's (the picture on the DVDs if fine but the sound is choppy)

soundslike issues with the sound card

solutions in order you should try them:

1st, grab latest sound card drivers

Update motherboard drivers

Re-install audio codec

Check for dirt inside the drive

Check cabling from the drive to the motherboard

Look for firmware update for drive

Hey TC you finally got back ;D

Seen the prob before Trunks and depending on the config it could be several things, but all of them are related to hardware config & drivers. Any more info on that side ?
