We use AM and FM. But FM is the most popular.

I think FM is for short distance while AM is for further.

no no.. the signal is completely different... i forgot the names of them.. but even on my mp3 player/radio it makes you change the settings to detect radio signals in Europe or the US....

similar to teh PAL/SECAM/NTSC thing, but with radio.

You didn't buy it off the street I presume, but in some chain- or well-known store?

no bought in NY (www.etronics.com). and the frequency are same BUT they use USA has 200khz and sweden use 100. which mean in USA, when u search from 90 and to 91mhz , you will get like this-> 90.1 90.3 90.5 90.7 90.9 91.1 ect
IN sweden will be like this-> 90.1 90.2 90.3.......91.1 91.2 ect

I don't see the difference? In the US, it skips around like that because rarely is there a station on each fraction of a frequency. You can still use the "tune" function to hop a fraction at a time.
