Hey Everyone,
I am looking to pick up some hostees! :D Please read the following info and send an email to kitty@kittytronica.com if interested! Thanks! :p

Status: Open and ready for applications...

Requirements:

1. An example URL. (Putting something on Geocities or another free server is fine...)

2. At least decent HTML skills/experience. If you can use other things like PHP that’s great too but only experience with HTML is required!

3. At least half decent layout/design skills. (It does not have to fantastic or anything…just needs to show effort and not be really crappy…)

4. One of the following Instant Messengers: Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, or MSN.

5. A valid Email address.

6. FTP knowledge. (I am willing to teach if using AceFTP...)

7. Links back to me and the rest of the Kittytronica hostee family somewhere within your site. For example, maybe in your links or exits section.(After being accepted...)

General Rules:

1. Absolutely NO pornographic, hate, or sites with illegal content allowed!!

2. Absolutely NO DIRECT LINKING anything from me or any of the other hostees!

3. Do not spam me or any of the hostees!

4. No sites made in pagebuilder, front page or other software that does all the coding for you. Coding by hand gets you respect with me. *hugs notepad* I love using notepad lol.

5. Persons with homophobic, racist, sexist, or other discriminatory views and/or content need not apply and will not be accepted. I want each hostee to be a new friend and people like that make me angry.

6. Sites designed in 1024x768 and Internet Explorer are preferred. I will consider 800x600 and Netscape ones too, but they must be good.

7. Layouts with the following should be avoided: Pop stars (this includes boy bands, Britney Spears, etc.), Crappy music (this includes bands such as Simple Plan, Hoobastank, etc!)

8. Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT embed music files into your site! That really annoys me and I am not allowed to have them on my server anyways (well not unless you have explicit permission from the owner of the work). I was told that MIDI files are okay on the server but please email for approval.

9. No Exe/MPG/MOV/MP3/WAV or other large files. I may be willing to approve certain things if you send me an email. Putting something like this up with out my permission will result in your account being suspended.

10. You must be respectful to me, I will respect you if you respect me. That is how it works! :) I want to connect with my hostees!

11. Slash/FanFiction is fine to have on your site. All I ask is that you please add a warning (before the user opens it) if the writing is mature adult content.

12. Some have asked about partial nudity. I believe this can be okay in some cases. It really depends on what exactly the images are. So please email for approval.

13. If I were to recieve a complaint about you direct linking things from sites (without permission of the sites owner), It will be investagated. If found to be true your account will be suspended until the situation is fixed.

14. Do you wish to use zip files on your site? I will allow these if you email me for approval. This way I will know exactly what the files contain.

15. Sites must be in English (because this is the only language I speak...sorry!)

16. Anime is fine as long it is not like animated porn.... :tongue2:

17. No sticky caps please. (i.e. dOnT tAlK lIkE tHiS...)

What you get:

1. A subdomain: either http://kittytronica.com/you or http://you.kittytronica.com

2. FTP username and password

3. PERL/CGI/PHP/MYSQL support. (Contact me for MySQL setup/access...)

4. Space Limit? It is not set yet...it really depends on what type of site you wish to have. As always more is negotiable!

5. Bandwidth? well I do not have a set rate. I have 50gb for my domain total, so yours will be a chunk of that. I will monitor usage and if I problem should arise I will notify you.

6. No Ads on your site :p

7. Pop 3 email upon request

8. A new friend and helpful host! :D

Please Note: I reserve the right to at any time add to or change the rules and/or requirements. I also reserve the right to ask you to leave (or just suspend your account in some cases) if: you dont follow the rules, I feel we are not connecting as host and hostee, etc. :p

I am sorry that you feel that way. That is only ment to be somewhere like in your links or exits section. I edited that! Sorry that I could not be of help to you. Thanks for catching my error though... :-)

Well I am sorry that you feel that way about my rules. I am not a hosting company if thats what you are thinking. I am just offering subdomains off of my personal domain for free. Yes I know that there is a big list of rules/requirements but if you actually read it you would see none are unreasonable. I am not asking for fantastic professional sites or anything. I am not anywhere near a professional myself. My site is just my hobbie is all. If you were to visit it you would know that. I want to help people out and all I get is insulted.

Don't let these clowns get under your skin. If you offer free webhosting someone will expect it to come without any requirements handed to them on a silver platter because they deserve it. Ignore these people and try to help someone, that is what it is all about.. even if some of us have forgotten it.

Thanks for the support Lp-Trel! :) Yes, I just mainly want to help people out. I remember my days of being on free servers with all the ads and how much I hated it. So helping someone get off those place to somewhere ad free is a priority. I will be dealing with all my hostees personally, so I hope that I can get some friendly people soon :)

That's super generious of you to offer, but you'd be better off listing your site on pick-me.net, I know it sounds horrible but offering it to people here will only lead to trouble. Most everyone is awesome here but there are a few psychotic losers who might lose your hosting account for you.

Don't let these clowns get under your skin. If you offer free webhosting someone will expect it to come without any requirements handed to them on a silver platter because they deserve it. Ignore these people and try to help someone, that is what it is all about.. even if some of us have forgotten it.

I want to start a network on my domain soon. I am looking for people to run network sites. I will be running a few myself but there are many open. Hehe, well, it's a soon-to-come site, but I already have quite a few people who are willing to help me with getting visitors, as well as other site work.
