Do you want one on your site (takes a little work) or linked to one on another site that you control (walk in the park to set up)?

I'd have to agree with you that the board itself is good. but the entire page is filled with ads above and under the actual board itself. And plus they have an annoying pop-up ad.

Pop-ups now??? Skip them and go with Bravenet.

Last time I checked, bravenet was just a cheap wwwboard with ads. If you are going for remote hosting, go with revamp (http://www.revamp.net) and get an ultraboard

cindyh, we're here to help you, *but* a quick scan of The Free Services forum shows about 3-4 threads with infomation about (you guessed it), forums.

If you are confused by what you read, then to get an answer, they need to know:

Is the free forum you want going to be something like a script that you download and install yourself on your site, or are you looking to just sign up somewhere and have the forum hosted somewhere and just link to it?

Basically, pick (all available free):

Choice #1: Remotely hosted
Choice #2: Installed - Perl
Choice #3: Installed - php/mysql

(anyone think of something I missed?)

never mind...

on their site...

Due to numerous factors, we have discontinued our free service for the time being. We may in the future accept new free members but at this time it is not known when or if we will.

Existing forums will not be affected in any way.

bummer...
