50GB? What for?
serverbuck
July 24th, 2004, 07:15
Well we have a few servers with over a terabyte (1,752GB) worth of storage. I think the overselling part should be the least of your worries. If skeptical we have a $1 trial plan that lasts 30 days. If for some reason our hosting doesn't meet your expectations, you can cancel and receive a refund of your $1 immediately.

You can't force a package upon a host that isn't one of their displayed packages. You can ask them if you can get a custom package, but that isn't saying they will accept it. I for one appreciate serverbuck posting here and hope to get hotrod1's results so we can see what the service is really like.

You asked for a custom package, he gave you the quote. I am not even going to listen to you. First off stop typing with caps on every word. Second, type in english, not in slang. I am going to take it that you haven't been with them, so why the hell are you bashing on them? We have a user who is testing them out, therefore we will find out about them. Just shut up if you haven't even tried their services.

The 50GB package is a promo page. You asked how much we would charge for double that and I told you $150 a year at FIRST (this would have came with the 30 day money back guarantee). Then after you stated that you got the boot from Everyhost for using their server as a download library for MP3s, and after you assured me multiple times that the MP3's we're your legal copies, I then quoted you the $40 monthly to be put on a different semi dedicated server that we are testing and no, in this situation you will not qualify for a money back guarantee.
And we'll be here far far beyond your prediction of 2-3 days because we are gaining new happy customers everyday and as a matter of fact we are testing reseller plans and monthly hosting plans so we'll be here for the long run.
And in response to SephirothX, we have a single monthly plan that we are testing at 388host.com, check it out.

We are testing reseller accounts. Tell me your target space, bandwidth and price and I'll let you know if we can accomodate your request.

Seems as though the server has been down for about 5 hours now. Will update if it comes back up or not.

its down....
along with the serverbuck.com homepage
Damn. I was gonna bite and buy it too.
EDIT: Servebuck if you see this, can you tell me if PayPal is the only method of payment you accept, or can you accept credit card as well? PayPal is gay and rejected my CC because someone else tried to enter my verification code 3x and now I can't be bothered to fax them piles of documents.

What about the speed? and do you really get the amount of BW/Space advertised?
MegaBytePlans
August 5th, 2004, 19:15
Test the speed here: http://www.thestreak.net/forum
That's the site I have on there. Been kind of slow for the past few hours and server has been overloaded.

And yeah, everything is virtually unlimited. I'll get a screen shot of the cPanel in just a sec.

What about download speed tho? Like on a 5mb test file or something
MegaBytePlans
August 5th, 2004, 19:47
Haven't tested that yet.
But here's the cPanel screenshot (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v425/scottybo14/cPanel.jpg)
Obvious that's its still sort of messed up because I'm only using .01 MB of space?
Also got this message from their support:
We apologize for the recent downtime. We are trying to update to PHP 5 and
are having some problems with the server.

Probably the better. I just cancelled my subscription as the serverload was at 51.75 over 4 cpus and still going up.
Constant downtime and never have a period of uptime of 12 hours or more. Very unreliable and abusing their servers badly.
