Here is my point of view....what is your?

I have been hanging around with this board everyday for over a month now. I found out a lot of information which is quite good. From many posts I found out that all most all the free hosting companies have problems. They are either experiencing downtimes, server errors, no more sign ups, activation script error...etc. Not only the posts from other webmaster I personally do experience these problems also which really irritates me. My questions are: Are these problems exists only for free hosting? Are these free hosts managed by unprofessionals? Or, Are they not being manage at all? Is the existing internet technology not good enough? Or the whole internet information industry is experiencing crisis?


I like to see your point of view about free hosting and the mass internet information industry.

Well, it is true that most free hosts are managed by college kids like me. But hosts like Tripod, NBCI are run by professionals.

I think many potential webmasters get tired of all the problematic free webhosts and vow to make thier own perfect one. The end up getting in over their head and pulling out. Most run by big corporations ar perfectly fine except that many dislike the ads. Around here it is more likely you will here about the ones that dont work too wel rather than those that do.

Most professionals are working on paid hosting instead. They get more profit which can keep the server up scratch.

I got a paid host and a domain recently. I don't read all the FWS post now, cause I don't need it anymore. I suggest everybody to go with directoris, dk3.net, discout-hosting or something like that, cause they are really cheap and are a lot better then most free hosts.
