After searching all the reviews on all the listed free hosting services(which took me about 4 hours)and then categorizing all those rated above a 6,only a few are apparently worth considering.
1)Spree
2)F2S
3)Aliencities
4)Geocities
5)VirtualAve
6)Utopia
7)Pickmybet
8)TalkCity
9)10MBFree
10)Townserver
and www.SimpleTown.com which was rated the best,but no longer has free web hosting.
Anyone know who holds the lead of these listed or maybe others that are not known to this board?

I'd say F2S is the best. No ads, lots of features, unlimited bandwidth, and a site that's been around for a while and doesn't seem likely to vanish.

Really, though, which free host is best depends on what you need for your particular site. What's best for one person may not be the best for another person. You can't say that just one host is best for everyone.

Yeah, me too... i hosted my site at Virtualave for almost 2 years, but then they came with those annoying popups. Also, signing up for a free account is almost impossible now, because you need a valid creditcard:(

I guess I will have to wait a few days because I tried to set up an account and it said to check back in a few days and that they weren't accepting new members, due to a front page express issue?

I don't think this poll is fair, because mainly, only F2S is the one that supports anything useful AND isn't down or unreliable or hard to sign up with. So of course it's going to win.

And Geocities sucks. I wish there was a way to not vote for them, like an anti-vote for them.

I set up a page with them yesterday.I only created my index.htm file.It's the same identical welcome page that is on my current host at SWFANS.com.Then to day I get an email stating that I violated some rule.They didnt even say what I did exactly.I wonder what it was.Maybe it was the yellow H3 text that said "Under Construction" that wasn't appropriate.Or was it was my offensive use of a Starcraft Battlenet wall jpg file that I converted into a droid factory bombay door as my background image.I know....it must have been my vulgar use of a wav file of a storm trooper saying "Look sir droids" as an embeded file..Oh brother..I will just wait to try out F2S and see how they are..

F2S is good. I have been with em for a while, and hopefully quite a while longer. They are the best host including ones with ads, as far as I'm concerned. They deal with a wide range of IT related areas, so the Free webhosting should last.

You know it's funny....

Everyone loves F2's, and I have had nothing but problems with them...Everyone hates Geocities, yet for me, they have been much more stable and reliable. Overall, they have been great for me...I guess it just depends what server you are on.... :rolleyes:

F2S can be really slow at some times, therefor I like virtual ave better. BTW people, you have the option to put banners on your virtual ave account instead of pop-ups, I see no problem...
