If you got a domain through domainzero back when they were free "if you accepted junk mail", check your whois info. The best place to do this is at enom.com .

You should see that your registrar is now enom.com . However your domain is probably still "locked" so you can't transfer to another registrar.

If this is the case, enom can unlock it. Domainzero no longer has control of it.

E-mail enom.com at info@enom.com to request unlocking of your domain if you wish to switch registrars when your current registration expires (or sooner).

Specify that you were with Domainzero before. The only way to unlock it yourself is to set up an account at enom.com, which requires a credit card among other things.

I mailed them for my two domains I had from Domainzero and they were unlocked within days. Many of us know how Domainzero failed to answer their e-mails about this. Enom will actually read your mail, so this is a Good Thing. :)

Enom may be faster though, if you're one of the old "free domain for junk mail" signups.

Enom is the listed registrar for them now. Domainzero has switched to using another registrar. They took their name off as registrar for those sites (like mine). For them to unlock you, they have to contact Enom and Enom has to do it.

Just skip the middle man, esp. since very few of the people here (myself included) seem to have gotten any kind of response from DZ. If you managed to get DZ to actually reply to you, you're one of the lucky few. DZ quickly turned into money-hungry ..... and don't really care to respond to mail that doesn't make them any money.

Mine's still registred by network solutions, but maybe if it exipires, it will go to enom.

Sweet... that sounds promising!

Hm, i'll have to wait to sign up at Enom until tomorrow when I can grab mums credit card. They don't actually take any money do they?

If you're just going to transfer to another registrar (maybe a cheaper one?), you don't need to have a credit card. Just e-mail the addy I posted above asking for unlocking.

If you're continuing to use enom, then yeah, you'll need a card.

gyrbo: Network Solutions? If you're one of the early Domainzero users, your registrar would have originally been Domainzero, and now Enom. NS doesn't come into play. Perhaps you got yours after DZ stopped using Enom, which means you'll not be transferred to Enom.
