I'm thinking of switching to a paid host, instead of hosting my own on my 10/1 connection. I will need about 15 GB of bandwidth and 1-2 GB of space, with upgrade capabilities.

Switching to paid hosting is probably a good idea? What's your budget? Have you picked and providers that you are considering yet or are you looking for a few suggestions?

Well I've found hosting for $43/yr at HandinHandComputing.com
How do you know you will want to stay with them for a year? If you are going to pay for a yearly plan, I suggest you use a provider that is better know for support and services. Sometimes that will cost a tad more but better than being pissed when things don't work out as promised along with the hassle of finding another provider, etc.

They actually have a great reputation, and are "hosting assured" on FindMyHosting.com. They also have a 15-day money back guarantee.

Baseline,

Cheap paid hosting isnt always the way to go. If your not really ready to pay for decent hosting i suggest just stick to your 10/1 connection. It'll be more up then down compare to hosts that are overselling.

Just my two cents

I'm thinking of switching to a paid host, instead of hosting my own on my 10/1 connection.

Is there a particular reason why you want to move into a datacentre?

Is your connection unreliable, your having server problems, you don't want to share bandwidth, you just don't want to manage the server...?

Some people have reported it slow. I'm going to upgrade my modem first, and then see how it goes. But I LOVE managing the server from my fingertips! :D
