Fortune City

I was trying to update a page of links hosted by Fortune City. I was using FTP because the Page Manager was down. For some reason it won't let me upload the new version of the page. The message I get is "We don't allow that type of file". What really is aggrevating is that it deleted the old page, so now I am left with nothing. This is not your usual links page, and is quite poppular. I have emailed the "jailer". I tried renaming the file and uploading, but that didn't help. Does anyone know why this is happening?

was the file a html file?

they might have been updating too witch would explain them not letting you use the file maneger or upload through your ftp

Yeh!!! I played for about three hours and finally figured out that it did not like a copyright symbol in the name of one of the sites. I was figuring that it didn't like the number of outside links to sites on the page and thought it was a gateway. I did notice that I now have both a banner ad and a pop up. Oh well, it is free. Thank you for taking the time to respond. It was just a page of links to graphic sites.

I don't see how a copyright symbol would have anything to do with it, or the number of outside links.

What I want to know is how on earth do you ever get so lucky and get to log in.That is the whole reason I packed up my stuff and mooooved on out.Seriously,every single time I wanted to play around with my site I could never log in.And when I was able to log in and it didn't give me that "authorization failed" dialog box,I thought I was home free..Haha yeah right.Then I would click on the build icon and the I would get the message that "The file manager utility is not available at this time but you can still ftp to your site".Yeah right ,I couldn't ftp either..I am wondering if they were just targeting me..You can read what I think about fortunecity under the ratings part within this site.
