Is there a free domain host with CGI access that is RELIABLE? I have used the power search and see many good options, but I have never heard of these hosts. Which is good and reliable? A banner is OK but no popups please. Any input is appreciated.

I think www.Xoasis.com is pretty good. They have a footerbanner.

Try f2s (http://www.f2s.com)

They don't host domains for free.
Talking about this, has anyone actually tried spites?

Hmmm... http://www.netfirms.com comes to mind... but they've got the occasional pop up these days.
You could try http://www.portland.co.uk but... reliability is not their game.

No, it certainly isn't. I don't know, but I've got a feeling they are getting their act together a little, revamp and all.
I put an org.kg there in the week and do you believe it, I got a confirmation email instantly. To compensate they were down a couple of days later, of course. But maybe, maybe...

I tried them, never got my site to work, always error 500.
Other people's sites work, but not mine :(

Thank you very much for all of these options. I will try Xoasis and I will keep Spites in mind for the future if I have any problems. F2S looks like a great offer; too bad they only have subdomains.
Also, I tried the signup form on HostOnFly and it does not work.
Thanks again!
I've heard that Xoasis is terrible, and just to let you know, spites runs off cable, so...........

Oh........
Well I guess there isn't really a good free domain host with cgi? If Spites is run off cable, they will eventually be slow. They seem fast now. I'll see how things go with Xoasis too. Thanks again.

I think Spites and Xoasis both suck. FTP does not work on either one. Xoasis has a web manager but it does not work either. Are there any other hosts?
I don't need much space, just 1 MB, 1 GB of transfer/mo
and domain hosting with cgi/perl.

hypermart is good; they only have 500mb a month for transfer, though.

Clawz.com does this, right? I just tried the domain, and it's up. again. But I don't think I'd call it reliable. Someone who tries to run a host of a cable modem can't be deemed reliable.

Unfortunately I need more bandwidth than Hypermart offers, and I don't want them to have my credit card,
Clawz looks good but their signup form doesn't work. Just like HostOnFly.
The FTP for Xoasis and Spites still doesnt work

Is Clawz.com reliable? They seem to be featured packed. I don't mind the banner. Heard signups don't work. If they do host .com.kg domains, i might shift over there.:D

clawz is a hell of alot quicker now than b4. but lets see what happens when Clement gets his sign up form working and gets a few sites. not knocking him because he has a vision for great service but lets see if he can provide it.
