3.30-7.30am - "Games of the XXVIII Olympiad - Athens 2004 - Opening Ceremony"
7.30-8.30am - doesn't matter..
8.30-9.30am - "Aristos: Greece is the Grouse!"
9.30-11.30am - "Greece is the Word"
11.30am-onwards - "Games of the XXVIII Olympiad - Athens 2004"
they only stop for 15-20 minutes of news, and for a talk show around the games..

I feel the Olympics are not as important as they use to be. Shame.

I'm all for the olympics, but I don't have Cable TV, so the BBC sacrifices the BBC2 schedule in order to move BBC1 onto BBC2, to have BBC1 showing the Olympics. I effectively lose a channel for three weeks :cry2:
There are some events I'm looking forward to though - I'm a fan of Judo, and the basketball could be entertaining, I'm not sure.

I feel the Olympics are not as important as they use to be. Shame. That's for sure.
The day before last a Kenyan boxer and an American sprinter were disqualified for using performance enhancing drugs.
2 days before the games even began. I mean how sad is that?

It's all hype, commercial and commentators who think their actually entertaining now.
The actual sport aspect is lost on it. It's reached the same stage as national professional sports where, in the UK for example someone can earn £20,000 a WEEK for kicking a ball around, but most would say the amatuer games are more entertaining.
All down to the money guys making sure it pulls profit for no actual product.....

I'm sorry I missed it (sleep time for most Aussies), hopefully there will be a replay sometime. The bits I saw on the news looked spectacular!

Over here it's non-stop, cheap broadcasts as they repeat it over and on all channels like all the sports stuff. It's difficult to find anything else to watch............

That's about all I will watch for the next two weeks.....by my choice :)
And PU, I missed the replay too :( I have my TV on the one channel always and thought it would be on there, so kept turning it on periodically throught the day to take a look and nothing. Then I wondered why I wasn't seeing any sports so changed channels, so now I am set :D

lol Jan, it's pretty hard to miss what channel the games are on because it's olympics atleast 22 hours a day for the next 2 weeks. Plus SBS is showing it at various times throughout the day, showing the same thing as 7 :S
