I used to have StarOffice 5.1... It showed potential, but had some "issues". Don't know about 5.2.

I've never heard of OpenOffice... Can you open Word and Excel files with it?

Actually am thinking of trying both start office 5.2 and openoffice, as they both work on windows. Will see which one is better!

Anyways opensource is always the way to go. If you just want a Word program then you can try AbiWord (http://www.abisource.com/)

Don't post "cracks" or warez sites.

Microsoft Word is pretty much the best out there, it is hard to say it isn't, maybe not feature wise, but Microsofts name aside it works great, open office is good too though and that is your best free and 'legal' way to do it
