You need to download, then edit the file config.inc.php or something to match your MySQL values. Upload the mess and run install.php It's as easy as that, I installed around 3 phpBBs and they all run smood.

If you're on f2s: http://www.prog-home.f2s.com/tut_phpbbatf2s.html (I know you're not) At barrysworld, you'll need a www.freesql.org account.

Are there any mods for phpBB, and where could I get them?

What I did.. well their config file is SO CONFUSING>
$url_phpbb = "/bb"; or path where it is. NO TRAILING SLASH.
(so http://www.chatrealm.com/bb/ = the board directory ) I think thats all I did
then I installed accordingly and it worked fine.
Whats the URL to your board? (or prospective board):)
